Getting connected but not connected...

Lemme explain this... Just recently.. I say within the past 5 or 6 hours... I can connect to SL through the viewer and I'm not really connected... Some friends will show online but when I try and message them they immediately go offline... Now I can understand coincidence but not like 15 or 16 people... Also I just got connected and it said downloading clothing please wait... No biggie but I sat and waited then I noticed that for my Account Balance it said $L and no amount... So evidently something is wrong... I was at home in PortChester dAlliez... Every since the new update SL has been continuously breaking... From not rezzing skins and clothing to buildings and objects... Not to mention teleports timing out for no reason even without attachments on... Also recently when I try and type in the Map section which SIM I'm trying to teleport too the Dark Red Circle to the left of it just starts slowly flashing Blue... Even when the right name is in it... So what's going on???

EDIT: BTW I've spent the last 10 minutes doing nothing but Bug Reports... So I've pretty well let the Lindens know what's going on... Let's see how fast their emergency response team is...

EDIT2: Just wanted to add a snapshot of the UI so that it's better explained... I know I'm near invisible that's not what I'm complaining about.. Check the top right at my account balance...

Same here. Took 10 minutes to get connected, then once connected no one is around, and the map's not loading, either.

Looks like another fun night.

No doubt... I remember having a night like this back in July of 2005... Seemed Logins were just getting worse and worse and worse... Funny it started after an update as well... LOL..

I just had probs logging in--took me a long time. We're on it, going to find out what's happening.

Heratiki, the earlier problems with online status you describe should also be fixed by a restart of the userserver, which hasn't been done yet but is forthcoming soon.

My brother Panther and his honey are in world right now. nothin gis pulling up in find (not events, popular, people, places...NOTHING). Things cannot be taken in and out of inventory at all. IMs are not going through.

Me thinks we got an Asset Server meltdown in progress.

Give em a small break... I mean this just started I don't know maybe 20 minutes ago... Hell it takes me that long just to get on the phone with a real person on technical support for anything else... They seem to be working on it as fast as humanly possible... Remember it just hit 5PM on the West Coast... I understand there have been login problems for a couple of hours now... It's just degeneratively getting worse... But to shut it down would be pointless... The only way to test the code is to have it operating at normal capacity... Otherwise your just throwing rocks at it...

and LL is a THREE plus yr old glass house..one would think they could keep it running right, God knows they make enough Lindens off it...and now the forums are down roflmao again.

Fear not--I've seen this happen before, Lindens are always on-the-ball and jump on ASAP. After all, we want you inside of Second Life!

Logins are still slowish but returning to normal... everything should be sorted out soon. And of course I am here, don't worry, we're in this together.

I have seen somme emergencie issues like these.(slow login,no login,zones not workin) and they have always been fixed in great time. Like sommeone said to call a tech support for internet or anykind of support will be longer then 20min. Keep up the good work guys the back bone is great so once issue is isolated it will be fixed no problem i am sure of it.

Means that when he tried to get stats on how new features where working it took up resources on the database server slowing it's loggon/teleport processing for a little while

im sorry..just thought since everyone ws having issues..wondered if anyone had this one

1) At the Second Life viewer's login screen, click on Preferences.
2) In the General tab, under Login Location, click on My Home
3) Click OK and try to log into Second Life.

if not try typing secondlife://Pawpaw/246/66/120 in you start->run box
