Everytime I sign on .. I get the new download alert.. I download it .. it asks if I want to start SL now I press yes.. then its telling me to download again?!?!?

Yeah same here there was some suggestion in the forums to change the time !!! For some it works I tried to no avail. Just hang in there something will eventuate lol

gee me too. gish what a day. i even uninstalled and reinstalled, same thing, says new version, and it just was installed. any help please

Yes, I've had this problem since 1.6.0. The bug was reported weeks ago, but no fix so far.

Hey you're all doing better than me. Every time I try to download the update it crashes. I cant download any updates through SL, never have been able to so all the new updates I download off of the actual site but in game updates crash for me. I can't even download it

Looks like I have to wait for version 1.6.4.........

As for it always crashing... hrm... only thing I could imagine that'd cause such an issue, I'm hoping, might be are you running any type of hardware or software firewall that might be blocking it or bogging the xfer packets? Other than that, perhaps a brue-force virusscan that hardscans everything? Not sure what else it could be... guessing if you're using XP you've gotten SP2?

Try this:

1. Completely uninstall SL.
2. Delete your temp files.
3. Reboot.
4. Re-install SL from a fresh download.
5. Enjoy.

Nope, just installed that latest 1.6.3(2) download, and still can't log in. And, yes I completely uninstalled the previous 1.6.3(2).

No anti-virus or firewall, and still using SP1.

Ya, so at first the error told me to reset my computer clock, as it was "incorrect." It wasn't incorrect, so I rebooted and tried again, and I am now getting this same "new download" message. I was on earlier today, but have been unsuccessful this evening.

everything has worked fine until tonight at around 7pm PST.

I only tried to log in tonight after the new update was released. That apparently installed fine but I just get a long waiting for response, a quick contacting user server, followed by a fade back to the log in screen.
