Problems with patch, please help!

I'm new to SL.. and today a new patch came out. It said I installed it and such, but when I load SL it tells me I need to update again. I don't know what's wrong, it said I installed it.

yea i get the same, i think the noob devs dint rename the patch right, it still says same version...

SL is still down for the upgrade. Probably another 3-4 hours, and there may or may not be more clients in the meantime.

it back up but it says i do not have to leatest version and the version it installs is the same one as i already have is 1.11 surpose to download? becuase i have1.10 and it keeps redownloading it

I checked the grid status and it says it is restricted to the Linden's only right now. I think they are trying to fix the problem. We just have to be paitent with them.

Same problem here, I am being told to upgrade to the next version, which I already have, and reinstall it, and the information that it gives me about the patch is dated July 12, a long time ago.

Apparently I am downloading the wrong patch from the automatic updater.

All, the grid is not yet reopened, it is Linden-only.

Also, the current download version is still 1.10.6, which means that updating to it is a complete waste of time, since it is the version currently installed.

They will be rolling out the new download onto the update server, and onto the download page "real soon now"TM at least, I hope so.

Until they do, and until they re-open the grid to logins, all we can do is wait

Yeah lol me too . I sign in . then get a warning that say must update your installer . so i do it then sign in a gain it says the same thing lol

So then i go in and uniistall so from my comp and install sl again ... and i get the same Message..lol

"you must update your installer "

so i do again as probaly the nutter i am and it says .. this version it already insalled on my computer lol

What you do is go to this URL

http://secondlife.com/community/downloads.php

The current client is 1.10.6 (and that's what's currently posted on the download page)

When you see that number change, THEN it's time to download.

While that number remains 1.10.6 then it means the new client is not yet available for download (or update).

Keeping tabs via the downloads page removes all guesswork.

We are planning the release of Second Life version 1.11 on Wednesday July 19, 2006 pending final verification of all issues. Second Life will be unavailable from 7am to 12pm PDT/SLT for the update. New client software will be required to access 1.11.

my first wensday damnit i had to pick wensday to join SL

When you download the client software, the server checks against it's version to what you have. If the server is open to admins and techs (Lindens) only, it does not see that you downloaded the current version, because the program's initiaalizer did not connect to the server to run, as it is locked down. Redownloading over and over will not help. Wait until about 2:30pm EST and try again. Don't frustrate yourselves. Go for a bike ride or watch a movie until then. But be patient.
