Does anyone know how to make it so SL does not automatically log you off after 30 minutes?

Do something every 29 minutes. Or you could put yourself into Away mode. That doesn't really do anything helpful except that it seems to instantly attract random molecules into striking my mouse or keyboard at high speed when I'm not in the room. Buy a cat, put her on one side of the desk and a catnip toy/insect/random bit of paper on the other side, with your keyboard in between. More seriously, about the only thing I can think of is to use some sort of program to fool the computer into thinking it is recieving keypresses or mouse input every so often.

From: Levi Walcott Does anyone know how to make it so SL does not automatically log you off after 30 minutes? Why would you want this in the first place? I can think of no good reason. I wasn't even aware there was a 30 minute inactivity timeout because I've never left the game logged in unattended for that long, when I'm finished, I log out, if I'm going to be away for a couple of minutes like a PNB then it doesn't matter. I am guessing that the timeout is to stop unattended clients hogging bandwidth and slowing things down for people who are actually playing the game. Either way, it is there for a reason, and trying to override is is probably against the rules somewhere. Lewis

Two words: Money Chairs People can leave themselves logged on overnight and make L$1 every couple of minutes while simultaneously increasing traffic for a given casino so they can bork the popularity system! Two more words: Bad Idea Because, really, ten people sitting idle in a circle overnight hogging resources for the sake of a few lindens is really kind of crummy. I don't get why a business would want to do this anyway, unless they had no particular problem with ethics, and if some statistic was worth more to them than actually providing a service or entertainment. Oh, right. Whatever. Not in my sim.

I gotta agree with Casey here - and add a caution. If people continue to abuse money chairs, you can be sure that the MC operators will remove them. You basically have two choices: Use them in a legit manner, and continue profiting from them OR try to cheat the system, and have them taken away.

Hmm....if my avatar is dancing or sitting in a money chair then she is doing something. I would find it mighty boring to sit at my computer and watch myself sitting in a money chair for more than 5 minutes myself. If you are chatting that is fine....but I really get bored with small talk after awhile too. Playing Slingo or Tringo or other games while dancing on the money pads is OK too...at least you are not just sitting at your computer watching yourself...seems absurd.
The money chairs are about making money in a place that gives little opportunity to do so otherwise. I don't really see the harm in it. What's it to anyone if avatars are dancing and or sitting in a money chair? I really don't get why some are bothered by this. I think the fair thing for SL to do is have a reasonable time limit for these chairs. Like say no more than 3 hours of sitting or dancing...this way people can make some L$ yet not be annoying everyone else.
