Can't log in either-Does it depend where your home is -if it's not on a Linden owned land?
Like maybe the people with that region have not updated (their server)?

"Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong. Please check www.secondlife.com/ status to see if there is a known problem with the service"

I just sent an email before trying to logon to my friend telling me that he'd have to download the new version before he'd try to logon tonight... and I said
"Now let's see what new bug we will have. Surprise!"

Here it is... already started, bug #1, can't even login. Good start... wow.

Well did you check the status? did it say SecondLife is up and running? So maybe it's just all you other peoples fault why always blaming Lindens they say it went fine and 20,000 are online comments closed. Its just you other 20,000 that can't get in. So reformat your hard drives reboot your systems check your clocks see if your mouse is dirty. Sometimes mine gets fuzz in it. Or just wait a couple hours till they figure it out. That's my plan. I think it's on there end. :)

please don't really reformat your hard drive.

I don't understand how the problem would be our connection really. It was working this morning with the previous version... HELLOOOOOOOWWW.

Holy shit... now a mouse problem? wow. Don't you see that this happens right after a new version? WTF? And how would they know that they'd have to fix it if we'd not post it and wait couple of hours like you say instead?

Also it has always been this way, SOME people having problems... of course not always all members at once.

Leave this thread if you can't stand us complaining. We're upset and it's our right... of course we will wait wtf do you think we can do besides posting and waiting?

Well. I turned of my computer, reset my cable modem, turned computer back on and so forth. It does say that the Grid Status is Online - but I'm getting the "Despite our best efforts....." error. *sigh*

I'm just glad I'm not the only one.

Logging in is a major problem right now. It's taking like forever to log in, then when it eventually does, I'm logged out again within 10 mins. This had happened 5 times now within an hour.

And no it's not a PC issue, it's a SL issue.

Complain away! Sorry just trying to lighten the mood, I been here for years and this stuff happens every update.

Lindens take notice something is wrong. Please fix it.

But might just be so many people logging on at once has overloaded there log in server again.

I think what irks me most about it is that it sits at the point that says "Logging in. Secondlife may appear frozen. Please wait." for a very long time before the message pops up saying something unexpected has occured.

I havent been timing it exactly, but it's atleast 10 minutes for me each time.

I tried entering the wrong PW to see if that would atleast do something different, but its not... I guess I made a mistake coming back to SL and investing as much money as I have to start my business back up... game's not much fun (and sure not worth paying for) when you cant log in, or when you are unable to utilize anything when you can get online.

Went to preferences at the log in screen, cleared cache, and now im on.

However, that doesnt end the trouble... put out some items from my inventory to see what they were... and I cant pick them up, or delete them... I cant even return them :o

Now another few weeks of dealing with phantom items for me Im sure. Good thing Im on my roof :o

I only had problems like these in laggy areas. Still not nice, but maybe you can build or drop stuff in calm areas. The Xcite store was the place where I lost two items because of lag but it's always terribly laggy there.

I was at 700m altitude, or under water, alone on my sim when it happened to me. :/

Same problem here still.. Crashing every 10 mins, taking forever to log in. Also when I DO get in half my inventory is missing. This has been going on now since the update *sigh*
