From: Mark Codesmith Got an ATI Radeon 9600 XT. Works perfectly fine. Hell, I don't even have it overclocked at the moment and it works fine. I have perfectly fine graphics, no vid card lag, and no graphics glitches that are video card related. Mark, Which driver set (ATI or Omega) and which version of them are you using? I keep trying the newest ATI Catalyst and Omega drives, and I'm still crashing (a report is generated, but I can still log back in to SL). Thanks! Wade

If you have a CompUSA close to you, on Friday and Saturday this week, they are selling the NVIDIA 5200 128MB AGP or PCI card for $29 ($69 with a $40 rebate). While this is not the greatest card ever, if you are running an older ATI (< 9200) or a GeForce 2 or 4, this is a nice deal.

I bought a 5900 (plain, non-ultra) last year and it's been working fantastically. It's even fast in HL2, which I was sort of lead to believe it wouldn't be, due to OMG no pixel shader 2.0 support!!! Well, now that I HAVE played HL2, I can say with confidence that that is all horseshit. I got upwards of 50FPS the vast majority of the time, running 1024x768 with all the details maxed.
My only SL-related gripe with this card is that the ripple water effect is not available. Apparently it does work on the GeForce 4xxx series cards, so that's kind of a head-scratcher.
