Well, it's back up, I could log in... but could not teleport even though there were less than 2k people on the grid at the time.

After trying twice, it kicked me out and said I couldn't relog for 5 minutes.

Something's still a bit borked.

Logged in... tried to TP... got kicked again, now it's closed again...? Nice... I thought you fixed it!

Yup. Now when I try to log in it's telling me it's closed for maintenance, and restricted to Lindens. But the number of people logged in keeps climbing...

If this is so-called maintenance, YES, they should have given warning. And personally I'm getting tired of these updates so they can put fancy little doo-dads in the game. FIX WHAT IS BROKE FIRST. Only making it worse as we can ALL obviously see!
And don't suggest "now is a good time to sleep" to your members. Are you serious! that statement just opens up all kinds of grief, especially to someone like myself who works nights and is sitting here on his night off waiting.

There is also a thing called redundancy and when you run a company and scream from the rooftops how you support 2M+ users you should be able to resolve ANY hardware problem in a matter of a couple hours -- not the currently 6 hours it has taken.

The issue with LL has never been whether they purposely shut anything down. It has been their incometent planning and operations. And any paying customer is well within their rights to comment (and complain) about that.

Indeed, especially as here in the UK it's midday.
I did managed to get on the grid for a couple of hours this morning, had some tp issues and rezzing objects seemed to take waaay too long otherwise OK, but just got booted off again.

On a slightly more serious note. It looks like they are recovering from what seemed to be a serious hardware failure this morning. I have some experience in that area and even with a huge number of people working on it (which I bet there isn't as it's late there) it can take ages to fully recover. Personally I think they've done the right thing keeping us all out until it's more stable.

Please don't post anything like that here again. I did not find it amusing, nor would the Lindens find that amusing.

I'm sure this whole 'owned' post was meant to be in good nature and all, but before you post something such at that you should consider that it might trigger emotions from people who will see it. At the very LEAST you should have posted a blurb about it possibly might trigger people who's dealing with issues those images portray.

When i started ranting in this thread it was because it would have just turned into another ranting/bashing thread. So we made light of it. Nothing we can do about the grid down, so have some fun. Which we did and hopefully changed the mood of the thread.
