No, you just keep on typing away, I need the help.
I think they both have a pci slot didn't they?
If so, I guess it comes down to this; Will it be cheaper to buy a dvd burner for the $630 one or cheaper to buy 512mb of ram on the $570 one
Does that make sense?

Yes, I am aware that I will, and want to, buy a better graphics card. I can't get around that with looking at pre-fab computers as none of them have the card I will need.
But I was not aware of the need for a bigger power supply. What happens if I use the one that comes with the computer?

They both have dvdburners, ah yeah figures, i remember Lee said something about the ati x cars, can never find anything in this forum, <.< Ok there went that idea, or you would have to pay for a pci-e vid card +++$, this page is kinda funny it doesnt mention half the spec's pc have <.< It doesnt even mention power supply either, with to low youll have crashyness with power hungry video cards, and unstability. 400watt++ recommended nowadays. Do you have any other webpages i could look at?, i live in europe so i have no idea what to look for over there .

I don't see a dvd burner on the $630 one? Is that the "LightScribe" thing?
If it does have a dvd burner, I think I'm going with that one.
If I need more power in the future, I'll get it I guess.
You gotta figure, I'm running SL right now with what I got which should be impossible. So I think I should be fine with the one for $630 and a new GC.

" Dual optical drives: The double-layer DVD+/-R/RW drive lets you record up to 8.5GB on one special double-layer disc. When the DVD drive is busy, use the CD-ROM drive to enjoy your favorite games and tunes." The compaq does also support pci-e vid cards, its a Minitower, hopefully not a low profile one (some cards just wont fit that). Found this page >link< same pc, just tidier and easier to read, look way down and you can see better info about the pc. Installed Memory:1 GB Maximum Memory:4 GB Memory Slots Total:4 Memory Slots Available:2 Additional Drives:LightScribe DL DVD+/-RW - CD-ROM ^ is what i wanted to see, that means 2x512, not 4x256 Compared to your old Intel Celeron Processor 631MHz 128 MB of RAM this one will just blow you away except ... you need a better vid card ..cough.. *look for a money tree rl* Gt6600 pci-e 256mb ram card cost about 180$ ish on the same page' >link<

Shoot, I must be blind or I allready need a better GC cause I swear I didn't see that dvd burner til know...lol
Ok then, that is the one I'm buying. I'll double check the low profile part when I'm there.
You guys don't know how much your help is appreciated, really. I could not have made up my mind with out it or probably would have bought something stupid.
I will post back here later how it turns out and if it turns out well, I'll see you in SL!

Hello, everyone! I'm back on my new SR1650NX!
It's running so-so with the integrated XPRESS200, but it is running. Obviously a lot better than my old computer. So for anyones knowledge, who cares, the XPRESS 200 does work here.
I'll be deciding how much I want to spend on a new graphics card and picking one up in the next few days. For now, I'm just going to see how good this one actually works.
See ya in SL!

\ /See how it goes now, yeah i guess the x200 can run it abit then, just dont count on it when they start updating things , 2 things you should have on in SL, since your integrated one support up to 256mb shared memory use, might as well use it. adv.graphics texture cache size > 512 >= video card memory > 256mb

Welcome to SL, Bargain.
Give me a shout in-world this evening and I will be happy to show you some cool places in SL...
The easiest way to find me is to click the "Find" button on the bottom, selec tthe "People" tab, and type my name in Search. When it pulls me up, you can IM me from there...
I will be happy to talk you through some of the bewilderment, since I am fairly new here too, and remember what it was like when I first got here. Also, the Newcomer's area is sometimes a pretty laggy place to be... if that is the case, let me know and I will TP you to Cass (My home-spot). We almost never have any serious lag...
This is a wondrous place. Give it time and be patient. Some of the kindest and most helpful people can be found in SL. Some of the most amazing sights to be seen are in SL. Some of the most fun you can have with your clothes on is in SL... Same goes for without yer clothes if yer into that... (Not my juice, but hey! Whatever.)
Most importantly, SL can be anything you want it to be. It can be a game, a social club, a business platform... SOme people even make their livings in here.
I look forward to meeting you in person inside...

Right now though I'm having fun finding things and learning stuff on my own.
