Flumps, I do not believe that setting is available for ATI cards :(

I think it's a driver incompatibility, of how ATI programs their drivers.

Someone know the finer details?

I think they had such trouble with the ati cards, possibly just some of them, and agp that they decided not to use the agp instead of allowing it to be used and having problems as a result.

I have an ATI 9600 Pro (AGP) in one machine. That setting is not available. Then I popped in a nVidea 6600 GT and it magically enabled. I have heard others say the same thing. I dunno why it's not supported, but I am not sure it makes a ton of difference anyway.

I believe this thread belongs under Technical Issues ... perhaps we can get it moved.

Oh you did fine Flumps ... it would just be good to get this question and our non-help moved into the Technical Issues forum so our non-help can be non-helpful to other people having this problem :p

I can force the setting on my 9700 laptop but due to ati's drivers it actually gives lower performance, I think the problem is mainly due to ati writing their own opengl driver with not many debuging commands so sl cant really tune and fix issues with it, while nvidia use the full opengl driver which includes all these features and gives the developers full access to debugging information.
