Been trying to log in even after downloading the updated version and making sure that the grid was up and i still can't connect to the grid.

Yup the grid is down for maintenance (DB fix n stuff) Take your time, watch a movie, do homework or play some hack and whack carcrashing mecha explosion game to relieve tension. ;D
