This has been pretty regular for me even before 1.8.0
Today when talking to friends in game it turns out they're getting in the range of 20 - 40 FPS.
Our computers all seem comparable.
Mine is a 2.4 ghz Pentium 4 with 1 gigabyte of ram and I have a BFG Geforce 5500 with 128 megs of ram.
A friend of mine has a 2.6 ghz Pentium 4 with 1 gigabyte of ram and a 256 megabte Geforce 5700.
Another friend has an AMD64 3500 with a Radeon X800T with a 128 megs of ram and a gigabyte of ram.
The two friends get comparably the same FPS, between 20 - 40FPS.
Whereas I'm getting 3 - 5 FPS on a system thats roughly in the same area? And these differences are all in the same rather low lag sim?
This is really hurting me and I don't know what to do...this computer ran SWG and EQ2 fine but I can't seem to find any info on this forum on what to do except "change your graphics driver" and I'm already using the latest Nvidia driver.
Help please...I'd really like to be able to enjoy this game but the extremely low FPS is really starting to hurt.

Have you compared your prefferences settings?
Local Lighting, Terrain Detail, Draw Distance?

All of our settings are turned off, draw distance at 64. We all use the same settings because one of us helped the other two set things up for as best performance as possible.
I just haven't gotten anything out of it really.

The support wiki appears to have been vandalized. The Performance section has no link?

Suzanna best think to do is press ctrl shift 9 and then click the help menu and report bug, including the screenshot.
Just out of interest if you can post the image here too that would be great if not is the image similar to keikis?

From: Suzanna Soyinka Mine is a 2.4 ghz Pentium 4 with 1 gigabyte of ram and I have a BFG Geforce 5500 with 128 megs of ram. 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 with 1GB Ram and nVidia 5600 with 256M. I seem to get between 8 and 10 when people are saying "if I got under 10 I'd cry". I wouldn't assume that the 5500, 5600, and 5700 are comparable without looking at the details of the boards. Boards with similar numbers can have a factor of two difference in GPU clock speed. Also, is your P4 using a 400 MHz system bus or a 533? Do you have SDR or DDR RAM? Is your AGP 4x or 8x? How much cache do you have? Depending on which core you're using you may have a factor of two difference in L2 cache between two P4s with the same clock. For the record, the mine has 512k L2, a 400 MHz system bus with SDRAM. With a 533 MHz bus and DDR2 I would expect to significantly improve my frame rate.
