Transparent Heels

I wasn't quite sure if this should go here or in the building forum, but since it's more about textures than the actual manipulations of prims, I put it here.

I'd like to make prim shoes with some totally transparent sections in the heel. (The heel I'm trying to make isn't even a proper heel so much as a physics defying stack of spheres with vertical spaces between them.) However, in order to get my avatar to not stand on flat feet, I have to use the appearance sliders to give her textured shoes with heels. And that textured heel isn't something I can figure out how to hide. If I stick a solid prim with a transparent texture on my avatar's heel, the textured heel remains.

Is there any way around this? (I'm starting to wonder if I'd have to use some kind of animation override, actually.) Have I tried to do something that just can't be done in SL?

Thanks.

I think you might find the answer in this post.

Thank you! I'd completely forgotten to use the search function this time.

Now, to find an invisibility script...

Edit: Found one!
