Hey Ged, it would be really cool if they eventually had guides like linkrez that would allow one to adjust the shape of the circumference and have the skirt panels conform around it (two semi-circles would probably work brilliantly). Hmm.. that would allow one to rotate half of it without messy notecards.

Well, I find that the LoopRez is a godsend for most flexi skirts, but when you are making a skirt that has a low flare angle, you need to apply some creative manual adjustments. I like to create skirts with an angle 15 degrees or lower, which means that even with a large backangle, the skirt intersects the avatar's backside. My solution is to rotate the skirt forward by 10 degrees or so. That tilts the back of the skirt nicely, while creating a nice, flat tummy in the front. This sort of adjustment can't be done in LoopRez, of course, because it's a final fitting thing.
I also find that when I make a skirt with 18 or fewer panels, the ones at the hips need to be adjusted manually. Usually, I need to reduce the taper on those panels so that they don't have "ears" that stick out and make the waist look jagged there. This is not a problem when I use more panels, because I can make the taper narrow on all of them. It might be clever to allow that sort of variation among panels in LoopRez, although the manual adjustment really isn't all that hard.
Finally, I have had only marginal luck creating a skirt on which the texture spans several panels instead of being identical on all of them. To make it work, I have to manually offset the texture horizontally on several of the panels. I can't imagine how you might automate this challenge in LoopRez.
Aside from these lovely challenges, my other creative problems involve waistbands, for which I have devised several approaches and cointinue to explore others.
Ooops.... This doesn't have a lot to do with textures, does it? Just my growing list of "Gee, I wish LoopRez did this" things.
