While my photoshoping skills are pretty good, they are mainly in the area of editing not creating. Does anyone know where I can get a set of textures that I can pull into photoshop and can tint/hue etc etc that I can then just import into SL?
Thanks

"Set of textures" is pretty vague. Textures for clothing? For skins? For a brick wall? One for your master, one for your dame, and one for the little boy who lives down the lane?
Literally every surface you see in SL has a texture on it, from land to prims to people. What is it you're looking to do?

Im sorry, I tottaly didn't realize I forgot to say what kind of textures. I wrote it at like 3am so my head was kinda foggy I guess.
What I should have added is skin textures for men and women, preferably already anatomicly correct, in grey scale if possible so I can change the tint etc as well as any other alterations. My first goal is to make a new skin for myself that has tatto0s on the skin itself. I already have the software program tattoo, and Photoshop, so I figure if I can get ahold of a set of skins it should be easy for me to modify.

Skin textures, ah that makes more sense. I've written some strange stuff at 3 in the morning myself, so don't worry about it. The samples in Winter's link are a pretty good starting point.
Oh, and by the way, Winter, just so you know, you can link to a specific post directly so you don't have to tell people to scroll. Just get rid of the "&highlight=jinny+skin" part (that's from your search criteria), and replace it with "&postcount=80".
Should you forget the syntax, there is a link to every post in its upper right hand corner, where the post's number is. You can always copy it. Hope that helps.

Just got a chance to check it out. And ya, thats what I was looking for. For the sake of others reading this thread, basicly there are a set of files in secondlife's character directory that are alpha masks for highlights, shadows, and everything else you find in the appearance. Wonder why when you just add a straight texture to a shirt and shrink the shirt with the sliders it causes a faded edge? Its cause they use an alpha mask that is a gradient. The adjustments are most likely just adjusting the mask's gamma. You have everything in there though, beards, eyeliner, and the basic body parts as well as clothes. The ones secondlife has are not anatomicly correct, so you have to add, though from what I quickly looked at of the files you download from the thread, atleast for women, they have been added. Now I should be able to do my skin/tatto combo
