While browsing some sites that offer freebies to help out designers in Poser and Photoshop, I stumbled upon one extremely helpful tool that could assist clothing designers. I figured that it would be nice to start a thread where people could post other tools that can help out as well (downloadable utilities, textures, tutorials, etc.).

* Please note if the sites/files linked to offer the material as free for commercial or non-commercial use when posting. :)

Here are a few tools that I have found helpful:
~ Clothing Fold Styles for Photoshop : Zip file with 7 presets for quickly creating wrinkles, creases and folds in Photoshop 6 or 7. Original link found here as well. For commercial and non-commercial use.

~ Brocades and other fabrics . Can also be found at Renderosity site. For commercial and non-commercial use (read me found in zip file).

~ Renderosity Animation Outlet . Free downloadable poses and animations. Files have different uses (commercial and/or non-commercial), read caption to find specifics.

~ Avalontree Poser Poses . Downloadable poser poses offered for personal non-commercial use.

YW, Sensual. :) Just trying to help out with some resources. If I find any more useful tools, I will post up the links on this thread. In the meantime, if anyone else has any more links, feel free to post them up.

A gallery of free tileable textures, mostly 256 or smaller:

The hosting site also has what seems to be a nice, large collection of higher-res textures that you can buy a paid subscription to.

Sensual! You just made my day, and this time I don't mean 'cause I got to see you :)

I am absolutely rubbish with Photoshop - I hope this helps some.

Here's a link to an area in RunTime DNA that has some downloadable goodies, including seamless lace brushes for Photoshop (for the many players that have difficulty making lace textures for clothing).

Edited to add: You need to create an account if you haven't before. It's free and there are many other downloadable goodies available, so it's worth taking the time to register. ;)

I hate compulsory web logins, so I use a certain resource for bypassing them. While fine for free resources, I won't post the actual site address because I'm sure some sites on the bot are paid.

I've also started a Wiki page for this thread at the request of a friend. It's viewable here.

Also, please leave registration bypassess off the Wiki page, thanks.

While I have used BugMeNot before on other sites, I never use it for the ones that are giving away resources. I figure that registering is the least that I can do in return for the goodies that they offer. :)

You are welcomed. Thank you to all that have posted and I hope that others keep posting their resources as well.

On that note, here's a new link. I just found this one right now through the Renderosity site:

Poses
This site has many downloadable poses, including some super heroes ones, that can be used for non-commercial purposes. :)

Thanks for the link, i would really like to see this, but the link you gave doesn't seem to work and hangs on the hour glass and never connects. Anyone else having this problem or is there another link? BTW: the other link fails as well, Thanks

From this thread: /109/33/45160/1.html

The Wood Workshop freeware program lets you create infinite tileable wood textures. Really very cool. I end up bringing the texture into photoshop for a little fine tuning and ageing, but there's no reason they can't be used straight out of the box, as it were.
