Anyone here tried out the Avpainter demo or full version? I have demo what I see I don't entirely understnd or get. It only shows the front of female, gives no other option, No color or pasting options. The guide is bit incomplete to nonexistant with it. What is full version like, is really worth it? I like the the fact I can draw on it but I don't like the fact its only one side, only female, and only color choice is black with demo..

It can be switched between male and female and you can move it about to see all sides of the figure. I have used the Demo and not very long ago bought the full version. Being able to draw on the figure and save it is a very big plus. Oh, to view different parts of the figure press both the Ctrl and Alt keys at the same time and then move the mouse around. I am at work at the present time so I am not able to use AVPainter to give you step by step. I use AVPainter some every day now and often wonder how I got along without it. Hope this helps some. Kat

Kat, can you tell us how this compares to using photoshop and the secondlife clothing previewer freebie program? I've been tempted to get it due to it's low cost just for working in either the seam area or the bust. Can you bring targas into it that you've already created like the slcp and then paint on top of those?

From: Subversive Vavoom Kat, can you tell us how this compares to using photoshop and the secondlife clothing previewer freebie program? Can you bring targas into it that you've already created like the slcp and then paint on top of those? Hi Subversive, the one thing to keep in mind is that it does not replace photoshop or any other art program. What it does is allow one to draw so that seams, like matching front and back, is much easier. Any file you bring into it can be painted on and then saved, but that is only with the full version. While one can paint on the Demo version, it will not allow one to save their work, but it was good practice to see if I wanted to have the full version. I would suggest that one play around with the Demo some to see if it meets their needs. There is thread some where here on the forum that talks about AVPainter. I dont remember the link at the present time but a quick search should do fine. What I have done so far is while using Chip's upper template, take it into AVPainter, mark where I want the lower hem line, the area of the collar and sleeves, save it and then open it back up in photoshop and finish my work. Once I save it there, I check it once again using AVPainter to make sure I got it just the way I want it. Just before I upload it into SL, I use the previewer there just to make sure I have not missed anything. I am still at work but will be home in about 6 hours and will be able to use AVPainter then and could give more information then if no one else has replied. I am sure there are others here that know much more than I do about AVPainter and could give you some very good advise and tips. Kat

oh i know it won't replace photoshop but i was/am still slightly curious if it's more than just a way to preview your work and add things like what you described...guides, etc...i will have to get the demo tonite and try it out! ty for your post

Check out what I posted in this thread: /109/c5/188752/1.htmlAVPainter is best used in tandem with a program like Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro or Gimp.
