This doesn't seem to work for Photoshop 7... Don't see a Script feature under File.
What version of Photoshop did you design it in?

From: Candide LeMay
Ok, I hacked together a small script for photoshop that does a similar thing.

http://lemoo.net/files/SLTextureParametersSelection.jsx

Save it in Presets/Scripts in photoshop's folder, (re)start photoshop and it should be visible under File->Scripts (you can assign a keyboard shortcut to it too now). Open or create a texture, drag a rectangular selection and run this script. It will give you the repeats/offsets for SL for displaying the selection.

Since it's a script, it should work for both pc and mac. Not sure about photoshop versions, report any problems here.

Adrian: where can I download a copy of your program? There seems to be just a video tut on your site, but no link to the actual download.

Photoshop 7 doesn't come with scripting support built-in, but you can download the scripting plugin from Adobe's intarweb here, there's a mac version too. However I didn't test it since I don't have ps7 installed (I have 8 or 9, I don't remember).

Candide: this script doesn't quite work, even after downloading the Scripting Plugin for PS7.
Apparently, the object "app" is undefined on line 9 (even after I drag a selection marquee around a certain area). I suppose this has to do with the version difference? (Also, I had to rename the .jsx format to .js)

(Scripting is an add-on feature under file > automate, for those who're also trying to get PS7 to script)

I briefly scanned thru the man for a quick fix:
Set app = CreateObject("Photoshop.Application.7";);

but it didn't work. instead, the error msg now says "Expected ;." ... though the semicolin's evidently there. i've tried closhing ps7, reopening, etc. also tried renaming app, in case the dec did not refresh. still, same error occurs.

Any idea what's going on?

That looks like visualbasic syntax to me. But my script is in javascript. PS supports several scripting laguages. You prolly opened the wrong (section of the) manual - use the javascript functions/syntax. I'll try to get my hands on PS7 but that will take a while.

it's actually COM scripting according to the man, which was vague about what that was, saying that it was legacy-scripting required for v7 and less...

without that line, then app appears undefined. p7 does not recognize app. i presume app is the object that refers to Photoshop?

Yes, that's a global reference to photoshop itself

I just noticed the site design is a little wonky. You can download it if you scroll down the main page, but not on the projects page.

Sorry about that- I've been updating my site the past few months, are there are still some less-than-fully documented projects.

I posted a link back in page 1 of this thread directly to the file, but here it is again, for convienence:

Enjoy!

Hi all, I'm pretty new to texture mapping and the use of this tool slightly baffles me

Can anyone direct me to an indepth tutorial on Multiface texturemapping in SL?

This page touches slightly on it, but I'm unsure how to get started Texture Zoning/mapping in SL.
