I don't have a bikini template yet, 'cause I haven't thought about making a bikini, although I have tried to make underwear for my mini skirts. (btw, the crotch area is REALLY hard to get right!) But even if I did, I don't think most designers are going to start handing out templates. Those are the building blocks or blueprints for quality clothing, much of which can be used over and over. It take time to figure out the exact lines and placement on the template, especially the alpha channels, so it's not something that is freely give out. It would be like a car manufacturer giving you the molds and dies for all their engine parts--it's just not going to happen.
Of course, many designers are incredibly sharing and will give you tons of tips--they just aren't going to hand you the blueprints. And really, every bikini is different, they have different curves and different coverage areas, so have fun and design one like you'd like to have it done. _____________________

(btw, the crotch area is REALLY hard to get right!) Hell yeah about being right about that. Toke me couple of days to figure it out. And a tip from me when starting: - Use guidelines in photoshop they come handy - Read the forums by searching it with the search option - Get your alpha channels right, they make or break your design - Try, fail, learn, try again. It worked for me that way. I am about to get my first line of lingerie and bikini's done now. |

can someone point me in the right direction in making clothes I have adobe photoshop cs2 and paintshop pro 8 but not sure how to start? Next time you've got a new question, don't dig up a 2-year old thread to ask it, especially when the thread in question isn't quite on the same topic you're asking about. Simply start a new thread of your own. ![]() That said, let's answer your question. Go to secondlife.com/downloads and grab the template collection. Read the instructions that come with them. After that, if you have any specific questions, come on back to this forum, and ask (preferably in a new thread, not this one). That's of course assuming that you already know how to use your paint program(s). If you've got no experience with either one of them yet, slow down, and forget about texturing for the moment. Spend a few weeks getting to know your program of choice (I recommend Photoshop, but PSP is fine too) by doing 2D projects first. It's a good idea to invest in a good book for this, by the way. Then, only after you've got a good feel for the basics of your program should you return to texturing. Learning to texture for 3D and learning the basics of how to use a paint program are two different things. You need to learn the latter before you can have any prayer of understanding the former. Don't put the cart before the horse. Try to go out of order, and you'll achieve nothing but a lesson in frustration. Take things in the right order, and you'll be on your way before you know it. _____________________
