making a mirror image?

how do i flip something to is mirror image?

i made a wing, and i wanna make 2, but i want the 2nd on to be a mirror image of the first

If you mean the texture/image on the prim, just check off the horizontal or vertical 'flip' box in the texture page in the editor where you adjust the image size and position.

If you mean making a mirror of the prim itself, that is sometimes an art form all it's own...

There is no tool to automaticaly make a mirror of a prim. There are even prim shapes that have no know way to mirror them (research 'prim torture' for more on this).

For most prims, you need to manualy create the mirrored shape by starting with a new prim of the same base type and doing the opposit actions to it that created the first one.

EG: if the 1st prim has a top shear of X:28/Y:-5, the mirror needs a top shear of X:-28/Y:5, etc...

Depending on just how many fields are modified, this can be quite tedious to do but I havn't heard of any better methods yet.

Damn it...

I made a 100+ primite left quarter piece to a vehicle... I need to flip that, then I will need to flip two other sections.

*sigh*

This is one of those things that seems it should be really easy, a rudimentary graphics function, huh?

...erm just checking before you go too far... you are aware that if this vehicle is intended to be scripted then standard vehicles in second life are constrained to a 31 primitive maximum since they need to be physical objects?
