I have gotten to where I am able to make things in photoshop, like basic clothes and such. The issue I am having is when I make a skirt and upload it to daz it shows up as shorts. And no matter what I do it doesnt cover the whole maniquen. I am at a loss on how to fix this.
Edited to add* I have been looking around at various tutorials and have not found what I am looking for

The skirt mesh is a seperate object from the avatar mesh. You'd need to get the skirt object into DAZ in order to preview it properly. Not being a DAZ user I can't help you there, but I'm pretty sure the skirt object is included in the avatar download package as an .obj file.

When you UL the texture, you'll have to apply it to a skirt object in the appearance window ^^

what I am wondering though is there any way to upload a skirt pattern instead of a texture? For example if I want to make a plaid skirt with pleats at the bottom which would be an uneven hemline, do I upload the skirt then apply it over a skirt form ingame?

You'd upload it as a texture just like with those for other clothing items. There's a seperate shirt template to use for creating skirt textures. LL has one on the downloads page and I've also created an alternate version available with my template downloads. You can find links in the sticky thread of links at the top of this forum. Hope that helps

You can also make skirts that don't use the Skirt Map (often called a Template) by using Prims. That's what you see when you see a skirt in world that has pleats and things. I recommend that you don't spend the time and effort trying to put a plaid on the Skirt Map. Because of the way it's made, it kind of sticks to the Avatar legs on the sides, and stretches horribly in the middle. You can put a plaid there, of course, but you won't be happy with the results. It would be much more successful to make a seamless plaid texture on some flexi-prims, or even on non-flexi prims, and make your skirt that way. You can find information about how to do that in this thread. Hope this helps!
