First, I'm completely self taught as far as Photoshop (not that I'm necessarily bad at it I'm just not a pro) and I'm looking for guides to help me.
I could have sworn there was one such guide in here by Robin (Wood) Sojourner -- describing how she put the wrinkles in her T-Shirt template -- but I can't find it.
I've also never worked in 3D so I'm having issues visualizing light and shadow on the template, if any one could give me any hints or tricks to try I'd really appreciate it...
Basicly, if any one could point me to all the more advanced guids that deal with making more than flat clothes. I can make just about any piece of clothing, flat with no shadows, in about an hour from start to finish and then have a template to replicate it over and over... I just can't seem to figure out how to do all the shadows and highlights wrinkles, folds, photosourcing, that makes truly great clothes.
Thanks for reading,
Jasmine
P.S. HELP!

Hello Jasmine! I am also a self-taught PS user who learned via the "what does this button do" method and from the brilliant people on this forum. I think the sticky at the top about tips and tricks has a lot of the info. Chip's thread re: AV topography is a life saver when it comes to high lights and shadowing. As for wrinkles, there was a great article in the SL Fashion mag...but since I'm too lazy at the moment to hunt down a link I'll paraphrase for you: 1: Fill a new layer with 50% gray. 2: Using the Burn tool with a small, soft brush make the lines where the shadow of the wrinkle will be. 3: Using the Dodge tool, again with a small, soft brush draw along side the burn lines where the high point of the wrinkle should be (usually facing towards the top). 4: With the Smudge tool pull the ends towards the seam and the opposite direction to soften them and make the wrinkles appear to fade into the cloth. 5: Change the layer to Overlay. Ta da! You are now in need of an iron Best, ~Ari

I think this might be the post you were thinking about by Robin: /109/25/77501/1.html#post808672

Just wanted to say a special word of Thanks to Robin, Chip and Chosen and others that have offered their knowledge to those of us wanting to learn more. Even though I am using PSE4, thanks to all the information given I have been able to learn more with the passing of each day. The link about making wrinkles by Robin is great. Thanks again to each of you that have given your support and knowledge to each of us. Without all of you, I am sure I would still be in the dark

Take a look at them, it might help you..or do it yourself. it has really helped me with the shadowing. Without haveing to be logged in, while creating. /109/7e/170036/1.htmlThx, bye!
