Hi there,
im creating clothes, but im getting crazy, cause i dont know how to make the vendors without a model/avatar. I want to make the vendors like armidi or cupcakes. I tried to put the upper texture and the lower texture of the clothing in a transperancy background and uploaded it. Its ok but what if there is prims of the clothing?
Maybe with a white Skin and then making Snapshots. But how to make the light and the position of the "camera"? Im making myself the Snapshots, so i dont use any Photo-Studio.
I hope anybody understand me with my bad english :I and can answer. You can also write me inworld. Im very thankful for any help.

I think I understand what you are asking. Selling an item made of prims is very easy. You can try doing it several different ways. The easiest way is:
1. Rez the item (a skirt, maybe?) 2. Right click on it and open the Edit window. 3. Look at the General tab in Edit. At the bottom, click "For Sale" and then enter the price in the field next to it. 4. Next, notice the three buttons below that give you a choice of selling the item itself, or a copy, or the contents of the item. Click the one that says "Copy." 5. Finally, the last thing on the page is a pull-down menu. Click on it and select "Buy the Item." That's all you have to do. When a customer clicks on your item (skirt), she will see a window that ask her if she really wants to buy it. If she says yes, she receives a copy of it. You can make the display more interesting by putting your item on a pedestal, or creating a hanger or something to put it on. You could even buy or build a mannequin, the way clothing is displayed in RL shops. These instructions only work for prim items, of course. If you are selling blouses or underwear, or other clothing that is "painted" on an avatar, then you need to display a photo, as you have already discovered. If you are selling MANY items together as a complete outfit, then it is best to put them all together in a box and sell the box.

I think what you are asking is how to make clothes for sale that appear to be on hangers, like at Stella's Mall. You take a photograph against a background that has NO colour that appears in the outfit you are wearing. You then, carefully, erase all the background so that all you are left with is the outfit. You then download that as a texture and apply it to a prim which you set for sale. The process takes about 2 hours and requires a steady hand.

Yup, it sounded to me as if the OP had that part down OK, but didn't know how to display and sell prim items. If you're right, though, then it would be a good idea to take a peek at the thread about profile portraits that started this morning and is only a few posts away from this one. Chosen made some very good observations about how to "erase" the background of a photo by masking. Instead of two hours and a steady hand, it should take maybe 5 minutes and a cold beer.

Thanks Rolig, I'll take a look. OK, hours is maybe an exageration for a simple design, more like 10 min's. However, it's when there's a transparency present, such as within a prim skirt, that it get's more 'challenging'

You'd need to do this in an image editor. You just photograph your avatar wearing the outfit in a standard T-pose, and then erase the skin and background, add a clothes hanger image underneath and upload it with transparency and slap it on a box. A white skin would work, but you could also create a greenscreen skin to make this easier. Just make a new skin bodypart and apply solid green color textures (or blue, or whatever). Then, if you make a photobackdrop using the same color, it should then be a snap to extract backround and skin, leaving just the clothes As for lighting and camera, I'd try to use a good flat even neutral lighting. Namssor Daguerre created a custom WindLight settings installer that will install some custom windlight settings that would be perfect for your purposes. You can find them here: /109/ee/273733/1.htmlI'd use the standard T-pose that comes in your basic posestand, and position the camera straight on. I'd probably zoom in with CTRL-0 to minimize perspective.
