Ok here goes....I have swallowed my pride and im asking for help. I have been concidered a very good designer for sometime now...but i can hoestly say now...I HATE MY STUFF!! altho very good and very creative and all original...its not perfect and that buggs the mess out of me. Im sencerly asking for help! not fourm help i need handholding help. If there is anyone out there like me that uses Poser/PS/Illustrator....(not all required)and such methods to create realistic clothing im begging for help... most of my clothing is hand drawn and im soooo stumped on how to make it come to life fully! BEGGING TO BE AN APPRENTICE Sample of my stuff......Trust me i wont waste your time.

Asri, you're kidding right? These look f*cking awesome. But there's no harm in striving for crazy-ass greatness. All I can think of is to experiment with the shading. Add details like the shape of the nipples underneath, creases, use shadows/layers to mix up the monotony of the colour so it looks like it's popping off the image, etc. I can't help much after ^that^. I gave up making clothes. But they sure are easier to "tech support" than attachments. Hope you find someone to give you the best tutelage. I can only see your work getting better.

hugs, neph Well heres my issue....with pics u can hide plenty....back leg seems in the garters dont line up...sides are mixed matched colors.... and altho i am good at fantacywear something that come straight out of my head its the realistic stuff that stumps me....zippers...buckles...pockets for crying out loud and OMG FOLDING FABRIC...gezz my head hurts! here is a closer look.....at problem issues. and for the life of me i cant get it to look real.

Arsi, grab the grid templates from the second page of the "Free Templates" thread, if you haven't already. They make matching details across the seams a lot easier. Then get to know and love the liquify filter in Photoshop. It allows you to nudge parts of the image around with a brush so it's very easy to adjust where a detail hits the seam.

Arsi, Your stuff looks really good. Many of the best designers in SL still have problems with matching up things. Also some items look far far far worse if you have a huge av. I will certainly purchase your clothes when I accumulate more L$.

Since Chip was so wonderful to make them available, I've spent much less on uploads. They definately make matching seams up much easier! *hugs Chip* You're my hero.

I'm very impressed with your stuff Asri. One trick that helps me save a fair chunk of upload change is to use the preview window. That and sometimes uploading the garment as with the background template showing.
Keep up the sexy work.

I find the noise filter helps a lot in adding a bit of realism, since light disperses a bit on fabrics. Avoid completely solid colors unless you're doing pvc or other shiny type materials. Shadows add a ton to the realism. Well placed wrinkles help. Getting rid of all the visible seams, or hiding them with a fabric details helps a lot too. The stuff you've shown looks great so I don't think you have very far to go to get the kinds of results your after
