Is there any sort of template for making skins floating out there on the net? I wanna make a skin for my av, but have no clue how the texture wraps around the model.

On the downloads section of this website, you'll find the templates for the complete body, broken up into head (face), upper body, & lower body. To see how they wrap on the av, download them from the site, save them as TGA, and then upload them to SL. You can also download the av models in both Poser format and OBJ format if you want to load them into an offline 3D package such as Poser, 3DSMax, or Maya.

One thing that helped me when I started to make my skin is to look at the actual alphas burried in your secondlife folder. That gives you reference to where this idealy fit, overlaying those on top of the base template may help you. :)

Ooooh, good suggestion! Haha, three skins later, this would have really come in handy. Thanks for the tip!
