I've been experimenting with making some photoshop brushes that are useful for SL. So far I have Buttons (sewing kind), Collars & Trims, Leopard Spots, Cheongsam (Frog closures and the prints from brocade fabric) and Fabrics 1 which I made specifically for adding texture to SL clothes. Give them a try and tell me if ya like them =) They can be found at http://karmalenespatula.googlepages.com/photoshop (Bookmark this as I plan to add a lot of stuff quickly!) Thanks a lot!
Feb 23 - Added Buckles Brushes!
Feb 23 - Added some metal styles that seem to work pretty well with small items.
April 3 - I've moved the whole site to www.karmalene.info enjoy zipped files and speedy loading!

Karmalene - So sorry if I hijacked your thread, just thought this info would be useful to others...

On the request for zippers, closures and stitches.

You can make almost any image into a brush in Photoshop

Select the the portion of the image you want as the brush.

Duplicate it (Ctrl-J)onto a transparent layer. This layer is where you would erase or modify the image or object you want as your brush. Remember the higher res your original image is, the larger and better looking your brush will be.

Turn off any other layers (except the one your are editing) once you are done creating your brush.

Click-drag a selection with the marquee tool around your image/object.

While the object is selected, Select "Edit" from the main menu, and then "Define Brush Preset" from the drop-down menu.

Name your brush accordingly.

There - you have a brush.

Note: Brushes use black and white as the base for your brush transparency (much like alpha channels) you may have to use levels to darken or lighten the image so that the brush is useable in other colors. Black is the solid and white is transparent. Also, brushes may not be what you are looking for when it comes to buttons or other items since they use alpha-transparency. Shapes with Styles applied might be more of what you need.

Stitch brushes are easy. You can modify the length and spacing of any brush by going into the brush palette. This palette will also let you create a brush that turns with your mouse or pen motion. The only advice I can really give is to play with the settings and save the brush once you have it where you like it.

Thanks a bunch Sioxie it'd be neat to see what other people come up with too. It's fun to make brushes. Especially ones you hope will be really useful.

I am not sure if this is the place to post it but because many of you are very skilled and brilliant I thought I post it here.
I have been struggling with content for last 10 years during very difficult period of major illness and forgetfullness which is incredibly frusterating for me as artist and wannabe content creator.
I am not wealthy and I am not able to take local classes on the art programs I use so I am asking here if someone here would be available to tutor me few hours a week in exchange for my appreciation few Lindens.
Major issue has been for me is classes that are available and free are often cause my computer issues and my fatigue and health often gets away with whatever is scheduled.
My goals as content creator isn't to make tons of L but to have means to create and share my creations and the friendships I make on the way.
If you're interested and able to work around flexible schedule even few hours a month look me up and also include what you want in return for your time.
Thank you again, FD

Thanks for the bump. I just added a kinda wicked tie dye brush set. It's not neatly done but I had fun playing around with it after making it.
By the way. These were made in Photoshop CS2 on Windows and I don't know what all they're compatible with honestly =(
