Black Line Bug Blues.

Haveing some real avatar issues here. These back line keep cropping up all over my skin. They appear over the entire body except hair, over clothing or with no clothing. Not sure what the problem is. When I go into modify Appearance mode these line do not show up. After saving anychanges or make new outfit, everything seems all fine and dandy. but after 30seconds or so, each texture on my body will re-rez and the black line appears. I've check all the tatoo layers and textures. So am I bugged, done somthing stupid or diseased? Maybe it is a video card issues and only visible on my end... attached an image

What kind of video card do you have? It reminds me of problems I once had before upgrading to a video card that can actually run SL properly, although it didn't look exactly like that.

And do check to see whether another person can see what you're seeing as well.

(Oh, and for future reference, this probably belongs in the "Technical Issues" forum and will probably get moved there once a Linden finds it).

Yes others can see it so it's not a video card issue. And wish I could move this thread to Tech issues. The Clothing is find for the first time they are applied but shortly after they flick and re-rez with the black lines. Seem to start with the Torso then Head and lastly Legs. but not all at once.

After more hours of messing it is only the the skins that are affected.

Something somewhat similar happened to me, my avie turned all black except for my head. It was because I have two monitors and put SL on the secondary... do you happen to have two as well?

Yes have two monitors but doesn't explain why other people in SL see it aswell.
Well sumitted it as a bug.

Why other people see it as well as something to do with the way the layers of your avatar, lines and all, are "baked" on your hard drive through your graphics card and uploaded, transmitted to others to see.

And yes, even if others can see it, it can be a graphics card issue for this very reason.

oooo other people saw me black too. If you put SL in the secondary monitor at all, this is probably why, and even if you had SL on your secondary monitor for a small amount of time, it can happen. I had to get a Linden to help me figure it out. For whatever reason SL in the second monitor buggers up everything. This is what I had to do to fix it:

1. Put SL back on the main monitor.
2. Disable second monitor, quit SL.
3. Re-enable second monitor.
4. Restart SL.

When I first did this, I was still all black. But i went into appearance mode, then changed clothes and suddenly it was fine.

And I learned my lesson, never again will SL go in my secondary monitor.

Well don't that just be all. So that is how they do it. "Bake" all the textures together. guess that would reduce the amount of video memory used aswell as rendering passes required for each frame. I'll give the whole monitor thing a try but I play in windowed. SL on one side and LSL WIKI on the other. At work now so have to go. hmm maybe a new vid card...

EDIT:
Okay installed on another computer (at work). After logging in the lines were there but after adjusting the skin color and saving everything is fine. So in short it is my video card having some baking problem. Guess it is a trip to Best Buy® $$$.$$.
