Why does it seem the SL population hates Cuneiform?

SL is founded on the ideas of Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash, which featured a metaverse a lot like our current one but with cooler swordfights. Ok, so LL took that idea and ran with it, but I find it disturbing that they have paid no homage to the Sumerian theomancy that plays an even larger part in the book.

When I look around SL, I see English script (OK, MEBEE ITS HARD O TELL WEN PEOPL TYP LIKE THIS...), a little kanji, a little kana, even the occasional Nordic runes, but not once have I seen any cuneiform. Is this part of an FIC tekkie-wiki plot to keep us from mindhacking their already attuned brains? Or perhaps it is part of the well known (in the forums, at least) Christian-Zionist plot to thwart the power of alternative religions which threaten to expose them as derivative and irrelevant? No, what's really going on is that the latter plot is really an obfuscating tactic of the FIC to draw us away from the tools of a new revolution and keep us buying their fruitless poseball sex apparatuses. If we pay attention to the religious debates in the forums, then we are only giving these guys what they want:

Complete ignorance of ancient Mesopotamian thought.

I mean, come on, it is the primary conflict in the book that SL is inspired from and somehow the world based on that book ignores that point completely. How is it that nobody has noticed this?

Ignore the b.s. religious debates. Ignore the ageplay/furry poseball sex. The absence of cuneiform mindhacks is the REAL failing of SL.

It's not that I hate it, it's just that I lash out at what I don't understand.

Are you claiming to not be ignorant of ancient mesopotamian thought? I mean, where were you when the crescent was still fertile? I don't recall seeing you around back then. I asked Hammurabi and he said he's never heard of you. So I ask, how do you know how they really thought?

I take it back, maybe Chance is right about supression of Ancient Mesoptamian thought, literature, etc... Hammurabi would not be amused. He'd put you on trial, find you guilty, and cut your head off. But not without giving you independant council... But if you were found guilty, the independant council would also be executed for having defended a guilty person... Hammurabi was hardcore I tell you.

Based upon your description, I don't believe I care to know this Hammurabi fellow.

When in my true form I wear a collar written in Enochian. Does that count?

In -my- bible of English it says "Though shalt not bear false languages before me." I interpret that as "Not English - bugger off". Oh and "Make sure you remind people that their language sucks." So I don't think you can blame me for being pompous - my bible told me to do it.

My godfather actually was one of the guys who wrote the cuneiform / ancient Sumerian dictionary:

http://www.museum.upenn.edu/new/research/Exp_Rese_Disc/NearEast/sumerian_pr.shtm?msg=90

http://www.fetchbook.info/search_Ake_W._Sjoberg/searchBy_Author.html

All that, and my mother introduced him to Jennyfur as, "This is Uncle Ake, the only person I know who's ever had scurvy!" I'm not the only tactless one in my family. :)

Let's bring cuneiform to SL! :)

I only recognise one of those symbols, and it was one which I believe eventually became incorporated as the second letter of the Greek alphabet.

I think that everyone should carry a good Sumerian-English/English-Sumerian dictionary. Especially if you're lost in the Iraqi desert.

I don't see anything about Mary Magdalene in there... but there does seem to be an Aimee reference.

I was actually mentioned five times in that cuneiform tablet but after some Mesopotamians complained about FIC, they bullied them down to just two.
