It's on secondcast.com - his interview is in 2 parts (10 and 11) and I forget which part his forum comments were in.
From 10:
Phil said about the forums, "I never want to make an alt and dive into the drama. I'm not that masochistic."
LOL!

Howdy Philip!
If you had told me to guess the last five medium-to-major new features to be launched would be flexible attachments, hardware lighting, follow camera, ripply water and HUDs (when none of them were on the voting page or really discussed or asked for) I would have never been able to get any of them guessed correctly in a thousand guesses. The only major feature recently introduced that any of the citizens seemed to ask for that got done was P2P teleporting. What are the next five medium-to-major features that are going to be released, and are any of them going to be in the top 25 vote getters on the voting page? Thanks for your time. Regards, -Flip _____________________

Sorry for the late entry into this discussion, but I want to make sure everyone understands how this will work tomorrow.
We aren't soliciting questions in advance. Philip plans to start out with some thoughts he wants to share, and then we'll open for call-in questions. Using Skype, you'll be able to call "lindenlive" to ask a question. Johnny Ming will be manning the Skype conference line and will relay your call. There are three qualifications for a person to call in: 1. Headset The reason is simply because speakers combined with a microphone almost always guarantees unpredictable echo. 2. Turn off SL Audio During Call. When you are called into the conference, you must have already turned off your SL audio. The 10-15 seconds of delay between the Skype conference and the sound heard in Second Life from the stream 3. Callers should be able to speak in languages Philip knows well. ![]() Friendly Tip: Anyone trying Skype for the first time should use the built in test call so they can hear themselves and adjust their volume and headset prior to calling in. It's common for callers to either chew on their mic (have it too close) or to have the microphone just under their nose or mouth. Sometimes the best sound is achieved when the mic boom is near your chin -- away from air flow. After the call-in portion of the meeting, we'll take questions from the audience via chat, although Philip will respond in voice. The Town Hall will be recorded and edited for a podcast which will be posted at http://www.secondlife.com/community/media.php. We've asked Johnny to work with us on this event because he's had experience through SecondCast with the format and streaming. _____________________

Is Skype the only way to get a question in, then?

Is Skype the only way to get a question in, then? I compute deaf so will be reading the written transcript assuming one gets posted at some point in time. It's highly doubtful that anything interesting will be announced, answered or discussed though. Maybe we'll be suprised! Highly Doubtful that. _____________________

<insert standard got answers mixed and out of order apology #01> <insert random while we wait story #18> <insert segue into compelling global marketing diatribe #73> You might want to add in something about <3D visualation aids memory> and <you have to stream to represent a constantly changing world> but not include anything about why you need to remember 3D layouts when the virutal world changes so rapidly. _____________________

I just want a "yes we can" or "no we can't" on CSG (constructive solid geometry). That's the only thing I care about and the only thing I want to ask. Sadly though live chat and the internet do not mix well for me, and I don't meet the headset requirement (I've got my karaoke mic and my big ass speakers, that's it). So if someone else could repeat this line:
Regarding CSG support, it would greatly expand the ability to build things in game and to create much more organic looking objects. Could support for CSG be added in a two year timeframe? _____________________

Hey ReallyRick -- I remember you and I think it would be great to see you back in SL!
Feynt, and everyone else who asked questions -- I'll make sure Philip sees your questions. Remember that you can ask questions via chat if you don't have a Skype headset. The podcast will be available after the Town Hall, and I'll see about a transcription for everyone who would prefer text. _____________________

No, after the diatribe and skype portion of the show, Robin said "we'll take questions from the audience via chat, although Philip will respond in voice." Thanks Khamon, I somehow missed that part of the message. Guess I had a lil MEGO.... and thanks Robin for clarifying. -Ghoti _____________________

Well okay, in light of Robin's replies, I'm willing to take this seriously and submit a question to see if it gets answered, if at all, with something other than a historical conversation recital and amusing anecdote followed by a vague, empty promise. In fact I'll ask something ancient. We were actually better off when Robin ran the project. She was firm, but at least up front and honest. Sometimes a simple yes or no does suffice.
Is there any real, bonifide, existing, scheduled plan to implement a scripting feature that will recieve a parameter indicating that a user accepted or rejected a given inventory item? Feel free to skip the user offline complication, that's an implementation issue that the devs can deal with if this a happy fun project someone will adopt and actually finish. So don't try to guess that either; it's unfair of you to promise a feature as you exercise no control over what the devs will and won't decide to do any given day. Come to think of it, you can't really answer this fairly can you other than to say "no" because there is no such thing as a real, bonfide, existing, scheduled, plan. I'm trying to take this seriously, I really really am. _____________________
