It might not be possible to do exactly what the OP wants, but some pretty weird effects can be achieved:

That was done with in-world tools (the spikey bits).

Thanks for all the info. It tells me everything I need to know.

Something I can probably work on is making textures, and from what I've read, people are looking for good textures. I guess I sort-of ranked on myself a little more than I should have. I've made some interesting textures between fratals, photoshop, and real-life pictures.

Again, thanks for all the info. This forum is great!

Thanks. If you want to see one of the sims that I terraformed entirely by hand, look at Nohona Isle. Take a look at the caves in the mountain, too, which are aterraformed crater filled with textured, twisted prims to make the cave walls and floors. The entrance is at the base of the first bend in the waterfall. Just walk through the water on the right side of the falls.

Caution: While it doesn't get much use yet, the Nohona Caverns are equipped as an XXX adult playground, with lots of pose balls...

Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.

If you want to see how you can make a terrain map in SL, look here. If you make it, maybe you can either rent or find someone that is willing to to use your skills (and maybe even make some money off of it!)

What ticks me off is they didn't put a default .RAW file on the site so we can play with it, and I asked if they'd put one on the downloads menu as well, but I guess they figure if you can upload one you'd own the land and can download one yourself.

Exactly. And we already know Terragen and Bryce are of little use either making raws for use inworld, or previewing Photoshop created raws.

Currently the only 'software' I've found of much use in creating/editing/visualising raws is a US$1250 island and a copy of Photoshop!

So, there's little point in posting sample raws for people to play with, because there's no realistic method of visualising the results short of uploading to an island.

Well, I've recently found out how easy clothing is to make. I'm amazed at the simplicity. They've really set things up nicely. Since I couldn't find pants that fit underneath my character's big belly (they came close but never a cigar), I made my own, and wow, how easy can it get? :) Hey, maybe if I can get some good textures going I can start a fat person clothing line at some point :)
