I really liked the layout. Very clean, tru Gigas-style of course. The banners and glowing blue on the platforms was very techy, great aesthetics. And how they were all floating in the sky like something out of an anime. I saw a lot of great schtuff, and one of the standouts for me was Seifert Surface's robots doing a certain familiar dance... What a great science fair!

@.@ to those I might have goofed towards, hey at liest I didn't goof so badly as to remove displays. I was so busy this weekend.
I actually had a great time, despite being Splat's mule for this one, it was a very nice expo, and the turnout was great ^.^

Thanks to the organisers for a wonderful event! Met lots of cool people, at a rate of at least one per hour I happened to be logged in.
As Torley says, the platform design was great. It had a kind of "scripters' commune" feel to it - I wonder what kind of things would arise from the collective if such a thing existed for longer. I bet with that many great scripters in one place for a month some awesome stuff would appear.

The event helped me in ways that would of taken time to complete. Some of the projects that I've put off I rushed them in within the hour and made what I thought were vast improvements.
The show itself was a rather great success but I belive extra time would of been nice to see what others could invent and innovate during this time.

Great idea, great result

Like above already mentioned, good design, I like the platforms, and the "brochure"/HUD which you can walk around with. Also the creativity displayed is really interesting. There should be more scripters fairs that are: - Linden sponsored (meaning, nobody has to pays for the sim) - No fee's, and invite only. - scripters that don't feel the need to behave, are never allowed anymore. (just to keep it clean, if everybody behaves, it will always continue to be good (to prevent it becoming a marketing thing with huge billboards and particles and spamming etc.etc.)) I think it's a really excellent idea that Splat1 and Ice came up with, and should absolutely be encouraged to continue in the future (being as it is, for scripters to show off and be proud of there creativity and scripting-victories, no commercial stuff, no marketing) rjanT

Heh, I think we will have to do this again next year. I'll do a better platform design then, this year it was a bit rushed. (Just spent the whole day working on the Linden Instructor build, and splat lets me know that the platforms need doing. ) All in all however, it had a fantastic turnout. At this rate, we will have to get 8-16 sims for next year. -Adam

It was really a lot of fun, only thing I regret is not having spent more time there Loved the plattform design, and there was a lot of awesome stuff to see.

big thumbs-up.
met some great people - saw cool stuff (dancing robots, touch-me tentacle, golf, sudoku, computer consoles, jumps to 4000m and more and more)
can't wait for the next one, and all the exhibitors have inspired me to try to have enough of my own stuff to put on display.

Seifert's inverse-kinematics tentacle is amazing. Too bad the sim is running dog slow, it might have been smoother.

From: Huns Valen Too bad the sim is running dog slow /me wonders how much of that is the tentacle's fault... Actually, when the sim was mostly empty, the tentacle was writhing about all over the place, very fast. I should mention that Delta Epsilon also put some work/ideas in on it. I think the HUD card was/is available from the platform with the telehubs.

I t was a great show. Simple to get in, no hassle to put things up (and my game boards are quite prim intensive), a really nice, unobtrusive design for the exhibitors.
One suggestion fo next year: Have a contest, with the condition that the entered items have to be 100% open-source. While it means we probably wouldn't get the more complex stuff, it should translate to a lot of very diverse high quality commented code put in the public domain inside attractive applications/objects.
Everybody would win, and our collective development culture and knowledge would really profit from it.

I didnt get to spend as much time as I wanted to answer questions but I really would like to see things like this more often.
Looking around I was pleased to see that not only older member are creating innovative things but many of the newer residents had some great creations. It makes me happy to see SL is attracting so many creative people. That is the key to a promising future here in SL.

I wish I could have spent more time there - this weekend was really bad for me time wise, and since most of my stuff is web-driven, its not terrible exciting to "exhibit", heh.
I was on hand for a while during saturday at my "booth" but didn't get to talk to too many people. Its good to hear that there was so much cool stuff around!
Regards,
-Flip

From: splat1 Edison but nows the point where you can ALL get off yours arses, post your review of the show here here with pics! (IE. what you liked, what you would like changed, what you would have liked to see, etc.) Thanks again to every one Personally, I had no idea the event was going on otherwise I would've brought BRIXX for display. In the meantime, based from Torley's images I think I might have flown through once yesterday. It wasn't exactly clear what things were at the telehub location, so once I saw all the platforms start to rez I flew out of there trying to escape the foretold lag. If there's another one next year (and if I find out before the actual event instead of afterwards), I'd be more than interested in checking it out. - Newfie

The event was a blast, and I finally have something I needed for a while now, an about for my project. Heh, aside from I think, 2 problems, one of which being a freebie reseller who wasn't in the show... as a staff member, I've had worse, honestly. As a participant, it felt wonderful to have my stuff out there for people to see, and what a turnout... I think the whole time we had most of our pads filled, feels wonderful being a part of this... even if I was just a participant in the beginning. If splat doesn't run one next year, I will

The show was so easy to attend and easy to join. The platforms were elegant -- wonderful organization. I had a great time.
Thanks! I hope you can do this again next year... in all six vehicle sims!

I enjoyed what I saw of it - I just wish I'd had more time to browse it. It was great to attend, however - I only wish it was more frequent than just a Yearly event. Every quarter would rock!

I think it should be every 365 days.. every 365 SL days, that is!
