I have tried about three times to contribute to different threads today, and each time the bloody thing has been closed!

It's gone beyond a joke; it is really aggravating now.

They do go in waves, because we come on and get the abuse reports from the night all in one go.

But all the threads recently closed did need to be closed.

I concur. Its not just the moving of threads. Its the blatant censorship. What can we say anymore?

I was already mad to begin with, I think this is why I thought signing up to be a Resmod was a good idea.

According to whom? A bunch of pissy bitches abuse reporting EVERYTHING? or a bunch of Res Mods following the rules to the Nth without any sort of leeway? or from some set in ston 10 commandments sent down from Linden Lab that appeared in a burning bush somewhere around the welcome area?

I know I've been vocal about my dismay and advocate forum chaos, but seriously look at the state of the forums... look at how many threads have been moved and closed since the res mod program was initiated.

I say close the forums or let chaos reign.

We've heard that before in the annals of history. :)

Who's opinion would that be? I have yet to see consistancy that was promissed with the res mod program. If this statement gets me a warning, welp "here's your sign".

Maybe you shouldn't say things that cause the thread to be closed.

Glad to see you were motivated to be a ResMod out of anger, and not the reason Jeska wants ResMods to sign up -- to help the community. She'd be so proud.

Mad in the UK sense of the term, as in crazy not angry.

LOL -- yeah, in that case, it probably was mad to think ResModding was a good idea. Thanks for clarifying. :)

The problem with the forum guidelines is that they're widely open to interpretation. Often, they can be quite subjective instead of a clear rule. For example, a personal attack; if I call Jennyfur a whining ninny, is that a personal attack? Well, in kindergarten, sure. If I call her a super-hawt bitch? That's not nice language, but between us, she might take it as a compliment.

I really don't envy the position ResMods are in, and I've always thought Jeska did an amazing job at balancing subjectivity and common sense. The problem is anything that now COULD fall within the "guidelines" - notice, they're not RULES, they're guidelines - gets things moved and/or closed.

Regards,

-Flip

/274/b0/98041/1.html

Check out this thread for a good example of the ResMods applying selective moderation. It's a thread directed towards ONE (now former) ResMod (he quit). TWO ResMods have come in saying they won't do anything about the thread, even though there are countless other threads that were closed in the past few days (by these two ResMods, no less) for the same TOS violations this other thread is reeking with.

So, it's okay to break TOS rules if you want to post in FAVOR of the ResMods and the ResMod program. Anything else -- BALETED!!
