Ok, I been here a few months and I like to date alot which I do. But after having done so and having talked to both men and women in sl, I find that for some reason most females think most guys have a ton of women. It's a bit ridiculous but it seems they think the fellas have a different female every time they turn around.
While a few might have more then one, why is just about every guy blamed this way? It's a two-way street and females play the same way.
What do you guys think, does this happen to you?
And ladies, why this misconception of the guys?

female ones will change 138 times in a 20 min time period so it may be the same lady, but with a totally different skin body hair and clothing  (please dont hurt me heh) |

Seems guys are accused all the time of having more females that they see on the side by their girl friend or current flame. In other words that they cheat all the time with other women. It happens to me, it happens to my friends and to many others. I'm thinking it's because the women far outnumber the men. This is what I'm referring to. |

This forum poll indicates that the number of men playing male avatars and women playing female avatars are about the same. /108/4a/122367/1.html But there is another large number of men playing female avatars. Is it possible that most of the loose women avatars out there are actually men? _____________________

I have been with the same partner for over a year and a half... we enjoyed our SL time together so much that now we also enjoy our RL time together... to honestly answer your question we have to look at the individuals past. Statements like I date alot implies you cheat... whether you do or not is irrelevent... the lady your dating will see your past as loose and whats to stop your future from being the same... this also applies to ladies... loose past loose future whether you want it that way or not...
Another issue is the easy ability to cheat and or have instant sexual partners in Sl...try doing a search for sex in the places tab of your search. With that many options and as you say it female avatars outnumber males... then other then a partner with complete trust in you... its hard for them to believe a person with a loose past wont resort to the other pastimes available in SL when thier current partner is away. Naturally ladies feel no matter the confidence level there is someone out there more attractive... with men we think there are dogs out there ready to jump our ladies when we are away. so this is not an issue just for the ladies out there but also for the men... our reaction is just different... they blame us... we blame the other men. I can date a lot (in SL or RL) but that doesn't mean I'm cheating because I'm not in a exclusive relationship or dating anyone exclusively (which implies to a relationship). Now if I started dating others while I'm in a relationship, now THAT is cheating. Just wanted to clarify that. Regarding the OP, I'm not sure what you're asking either. Maybe you mean why men tend to have different partners or date a lot more than women do? Or switch partners more? :-/ Or that men have more female 'partners' than do women? _____________________

I see some really decent guys on here who don't have a ton of women. And I see some real scumbags with women all over them. (men I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole and then some) The only thing I can figure... is maybe some men are more choosy about their partners than others. Or less choosy, who knows. I think it goes both ways, men and women. I see women who have someone new all the time as well. Seems like SL romance doesn't have a long lifespan. As I am a romance pessimist, it's nothing I generally lose sleep over, either way. Not the reason I'm here, just gets in the way._____________________

I have one woman here, have for a year and a half now. We have an entirely open relationship. I don't see anyone else, not because I can't, but because I don't wish too. I find the main issue with relationships here as this.... the expectation that the other person will be 100% faithful. The anonymity is too tempting, and the "sex" is too available.

Okay...if I understand the OP's question: Why do most all women assume any man will run around on them?
The answer is simple... Women are natural relationship pessimists (or realists from our point of view). Men are relationship optimists by nature. Yes...I know very well this is a massive over-simplification. Do not flood me with posts and Ims saying how you don't fit this. I am talking majority and also in my own opinions and experiences. What does this mean exactly? Well, a man, being a relationship optimist will meet someone he is attracted to and think, "She seems cool. She is hawt. Lets give this a try and see how it goes". A woman on the other hand will meet a guy that seems nice enough and think, "Hrmm...he seems too good to be true. That means he is hiding something. He is likely got a wife and three kids already and I would just be a fling. All the good ones are taken, so I am sure he is abusive too, and gambles or drinks or something. He is just too nice to be for real. It's an act. OMG...I need to get as far away as possible...I can't do this like that last one." And then run away screaming. Why are women naturally relationship pessimists? Why do we assume most all guys cheat, drink, become abusive or are otherwise asses? usually because we have had personal experiences that reinforce those beliefs. Are all men nasty, evil, vile creatures? No. Not all of them. But we have a hard time taking that chance compared to guys I feel. P.S. - This post is only half serious. In reality I don't feel you can simplify men and women this was. But it was still fun to post. =P _____________________
