Define "unique users", when multiple people use the same credit card (husband/wife/roomate).

And how many folks are logging in Dalek alts and shouting EXTERMINATE at Doctor Who museums? Surely not 30,000 people.

I mean "unique users." And I understand that we can't functionally know exactly how many accounts per card are unique people. But it's just as reasonable to toy the number down as it is to ignore all the possibilities and take it at face value. Half the residents I know log at least one alternate account regularly. Extrapolating that single item reduces the projected userbase from 60,000 to 45,000.

If Vasudha tells us how many unique credit cards logged in March, are you willing to venture an average number of unique users per card for the sake of discussion? We know that the number has to be at least 12,000 if we can only have five accounts per card. How many people have five accounts on their card? Surely not 12,000.

Or should we just stick with "you can't," accept the highest possible number, and talk about something important like wings.

The thing is, no matter what number the Lindens are going to produce, you're going to have five people (alts, maybe?) instantly jump on it and whittle it down due to technicalities.

Oh, well, we can have five alts on our cards. And an infinite number of credit cards. And what about banned accounts? What if they are all siamese twins? Polygamists? Gypsy penguins? There can't possibly be X* people playing SL! That's preposterous.
