Well, I'm not into digging through the forums for a post similar to mine, so here's what problems I've had so far from 1.9 (and from before):

1. Since 1.7, there has a been a problem with scripts reading the contents of an object, supposedly because the contents don't load. You have to manually edit the object for the contents to load (server side?). Even if something does exist in inventory (especially scripts) certain functions, such as llRemoveInventory() will fail to find it and return and error message. Both CrystalShard and I have proven the existance of this bug, and still nothing has been done about it.

2. Since 1.9, I often get permissions popups from object that are attached, even though they are supposed to be granted automatically from attached objects.

3. Some of my items that cause the user to animate now fail to work correctly, even though we were told only camera permissions would be affected. This might possibly be something new related to number 1 above.

That's it for now, will post more problems as I find them.

The Magnificent Seven

* hums the theme tune to the movie *

1. Since 1.7, the undo and delete keys are sometimes failing to work.

2. Prims in linked objects are not scaling equally. This problem used to occur in unlinked objects, but now occurs in linked objects too.

3. Ruler Mode - Local Axis. Isn't working correctly with linked prims

4. 'Cut Begin' on a box or cylinder isn't working correctly.

5. The root prim on linked sets is often appearing asthough it is set to Light or Fullbright.

6. Avatar's rotation returned from llGetRot() and llDetectedRot() is incorrect after teleporting into certain sims.

7. Since V1.8.4 - Rectangular selection tool (yellow box) failing to select all prims

There's more, but I don't want to demoralize the programmers. I'm a good boy!.

This one goes way back and is still present in 1.9:

People post their problems on the forums thinking it will change something.

:p

(also, one of Starax's builds crawled under a rock yesterday and I can't get it out. says the skybox is ugly)

- Object Cuts and Dimples don't always do as you tell them (Type '60', get '59') and aren't necessarily going to stay put after you correct if by fudging numbers.

I am not receiving all of my IMs in SL that I did receive in my email. Sometimes I get them, most likely not. I also did not receive an inventory item a customer gave to me that I got confirmation for via email.

I bug reported it and stuff.

Almost every time I log in I get the Downloading Your Clothing message. As compared to almost never Pre-1.9.

My clothing I haven't worn in awhile didn't even bake last night.

Slow To Rezz
03-20-2006 09:12
Is it me or is anyone else having the same problem. First sign on everything is grey and takes forever to rezz up. And I have a fast machine, great graphics card, and fast DSL connection.

Yeah. There's a girl called SuezanneC that suffers from an extreme form of this condition. I'm sure she'll able to console you and offer advice on how to ease the pain. She'll be along to the meeting soon. She's normally a bit late.

Sorry, if there are duplicates with other messages. Here is my list: (sorry some of it is induced by a bad case of the Mondays :-))

-Undo does not work predictably, hence it is useless.

-Edit Linked parts will not delete a non-root prim (is this a bug, or a logical error in software design)

- UnLink takes longer than usual and sometimes results in faulty relinks. Because if I do not wait long enough to relink, several prims in the original linked set get left out. This is happening in a lagless sim, with me as the only avatar in the sim at the time of the occurence.

-Prims in linked objects don't scale. This is a major impairment. It used to be that when I selected several prims and then entered a new height value, only the first one I selected (or last I am not sure, but it was only one) got changed. Now the same thing is happening with linked objects. As a builder I say "booo".

- People keep complaining that they only see my attachments but not my avatar (problem since 1.9) So my avatar is invisible part of the time. But if I log out and log back in the problem resolves itself.

-when resizing an object sometimes something happens and the original values of the textures settings change to 100 repetitions for either or both of the vertical and horizontal settings for a particular face of the prim. This does not happen on every face, it only seems to happen on one of the faces.

-Locked Prims that are my own creation, (as in I created them, I own them, nothing to do with group etc), still do not show me their coordinate, size, and other settings in Edit Window and they should. I should not be forced to unlock to see the coordinates of a prim so that I can put another next to it. PLEASE please fix this.

- The camera is all sorts of fudged up, The normal camera controls I used while editing objects on my Mac OS X no longer work the same. It is not an improvement, it is a darn right impairment currently. Sorry to be a bitch about this but it's true.

- If you create a transparent item and then put another item in front of it, say for example, a glass window with 30% transparency and then put a single prim bookcase in front of it with a texture on the front, the glass sometimes seems to appear in front of the bookcase.

- Textures applied to prims seem to shift up and down as you get closer to them. I think this is a side effect of the progressive JPEG load effect for the textures that are currently loading.

- If someone created a root object in their own land and then attaches a bunch of 10meter long objects to it, they can overhang into my lot. Is this a feature or a bug? I would say it's a bug and it should be fixed as a part of reducing the venues for griefers

-The auto return on Governor Linden land is turned off. I remember a discussion a while back when it was decided that auto-return on Governor Linden land would be set up. Uzume for example has no auto-return on its Governor Linden land. This results in crap, yes literally crap, accumilating anywhere and everywhere that's Linden land in a sim.

-Cordova is still not in the list of regions in the Map, hence to teleport there, you have to either create a landmark for Cordova or Find it by searching.

And a few fun bug reports:
- when standing on a hillside, my avatar is still doing ballet... with one leg raised so high on the hillside that this would be impossible to accomplish in RL, except if you were from the Cirque du Soleil.

- I have very unpleasant neighbors in Uzume. They have pretty much chased me out of the sim with their fireballs, gunshots and all round ghetto-licious violence. No general offense intended. I have no problem with Harlem, except when I am put in the middle of 1970s Harlem in SL thanks in full to my neighbors. The other neighbors in the sim are also leaving. We can not take it anymore. So my bug report is, lack of community management, lack of true community culture, and just plain lack of knowledge of how people should behave in SL. I have abuse reported by neighbors, as far as I can see nothing has changed in their behavior in the last week since the report.

- Since I moved my gallery from Uzume to Tilitr nothing is selling. So people go buy something darn it. :-) *just kidding*

Final thought:
I concur with many SL residents that have voiced the opinion that there seems to be a mismatch between SL residents' list of bugs to fix and features to improve and LL's list. I can tolerate a certain level of discrepancy between the two considering LL is its own company and SL is their product. But lately the updates have been giving us nothing we need and a lot of grief we don't need.

Thanks for listening.

Troy

Yesterday I think I had the best bug I have ever had in SL.

I put an outfit on, an error message "Clothing item not found in database" appeared. The clothing item names changed to "new shirt" "new pants" and the shirt lost all the permissions (so now I have full rights to nothing!) and the creator name remained the same.

I have never had that error in my 2 years on this account.

Someone just mentioned having this same error in another thread, but I can't recall which one.

I've had clothing items missing from the database before, but it just wouldn't allow me to put them on, which is a better option, in my opinion, because they sometimes show back up. I don't like the idea of it changing any perms at all.

Ugh I just found someone doing this over one of my properties today... they don't even have a house under it, just this giant roof. I was wondering why 'About Land' didn't list any objects not owned by me... will report it as a bug tonight.
