So to simplify, here's my opinion AS A porn-hoarding, MU*-dwelling, public-yiffing, con-going furry MYSELF as to why the OP's problem occurs:
-Furries are just too darned serious and defensive about their identity.
That's all really. But it can also be combined with the fact that people as a whole can have the bad habits of:
-Saying they want diversity, but really just want to segregate
-Wanting to feel superior to others, through any means
-Just generally failing to give their actions/beliefs/attitudes/etc a healthy shot of self criticism
So it's only marginally a 'furry' disorder, more of a problem with real-life flaws sinking through to the virtual. Basicly after having like 100000 topics discussing furries or any culture that people know nothing about unless they take that path (like or dislike) it tends to end up like this.  |

Personally, I could care less what furries do in private, the ones I've mentand befriended were fine.

Once payday hits, I might be changing this, but I digress... I've been around the net for a long time on various worlds, and as a Minotaur, I've seen this argument come up before. Furries hating humans and humans hating furries. I don't hate anyone. On the human side, I've spoken with friendly humans and friendly furries. Been hit on by a few humans as well. Never let it get beyond just yaking, but that's for another post.  I believe the problem is, as has probably been stated, is that the "Human hating" furries are the minority. At the same time, the "Furry hating" humans are also a minority. If someone comes to me and blows up in my face about hating furries, I'd just shrug, tell them I'm sorry they feel that way, and go about my merry business. If the shoot me with a weapon, Then I'll crack a skull or two. ;D At any rate, I'm babbling, sorry about that. Point is, If someone wants to act like a git, ignore them. If they physically attack you, abuse report them. So on so on. Don't knock a person for the lifestyle they choose. It's rather rude. |

I have yet to run into a rude furry. None of them has ever demanded I wear a furry AV and has never told me to leave for *not* wearing one. So far, I've been exposed to a bunch of pleasant furries.

Well, it isn't too far fetched to think that some furries would hate "humans". As far social groups/communities on the internet go, they are pretty much considered the laughing stock on the net. This ontop of the fact that alot of furries have an acute persecution complex like no other, thus making them an extremely easy target. At this point, some furs come to the idea that living in a tight community that "blocks" potential harm is best. Of course, there are just the furries that hate humans because their spiritual furry ancestor were oppressed by them. Although I would say that most of these furries don't so much "hate" humans as much as they wish not to have much if any interaction with them. A "be there, but don't look at us" sort of deal.
