Why all the 16m billboards?

There are many ads in SL that annoy the garbage out of me but there is one guy/gal in particular who I have seen ads for multiple times that I don't mind; if someone was to own an ad plot that would be the guy i want (other than the scripters, who in my opinion are almost always preferable since their plots never look like anything is on them). It is a guy with a small cube that sits near to the ground and advertises Unique Furniture, that particualr ad doesn't bug me at all because it is very tasteful and small.

The people who have the 10k/L plots that say "non-negotiable" in the title do annoy me. I tried a land swap with one of those people at one time and they didn't respond even though I was offering up just as premium (if not more premium after I was done putting my building in) spots.

Well, some of those folks have gotten 20,000 L$ / m2 for such plots. So yeah it's probably extortion - and while they're at it, they might as well advertise their shop.

Which probably sells freebies from the library but, hey, free market, right?

Any chance we could compile a list of such nefarious places? I don't experience these billboards, but I certainly don't want to support such businesses that do.

How about a good, old-fashioned boycott?
