Nice job of copyright violation and demonstrating that you apparently can't think for yourself.

Clothing in SL that are adaptations of real world clothing? Shocking! (not). Nice way of making a personal attack instead of starting an intelligent discussion.

No, I don't have permission to duplicate them. I do it because they're funny, and it's my favorite t-shirt site, and they get credit and attention for it. If it's a problem, I'll remove them.

I have a Chairman Mao saying RTFM shirt in SL. I would buy the real thing if I could find it and actually afford to order it. It's also my wallpaper
![]() I don't resell the shirt, but I do hand out copies on request. People that understand the deep irony behind it rarely object. |

1. "adaptation" is one thing - taking direct copy of (copyrighted? I do not know if these shirts are, or are not) is another. so that is two different issues i think
2. "they get credit and attention for it" this is confusing - is there a link to the website in the boxes of the tshirts being sold? I did not see any reference to it in the original ad posting for the shirts 3. for new designers and designers in general, if this is a problem, what is the way to go about it if we see some cool t shirts or other things we'd like to do in SL and sell here? _____________________

Intelligent discussion is all well and good, but when at least ten of her eleven new designs ["America's Next Top Coked-Out Whore," "This Orgy Sure Is Getting Off To A Slow Start," "Never Mind, Apparently It Does Suck Itself," "I Am Not Your Black Friend," "Killing My Wife Saved My Marriage," "Tell Your Dog I Said Thanks," and "The British Version Of This Shirt Is Much Better," "When Soldier #3000 Dies I Get A Free Juicer," "Fuck The Color Blind," and "I Beta Tested Your Girlfriend" were, uhm, borrowed from the same source, what exactly did she expect? And as far as copyright -- their website clearly states "COPYRIGHT T-SHIRT HELL INC. 2001-2006 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED." P2 _____________________

There's a sign in my store, in the t-shirt section, that gives the link of the webpage where they can go to buy the designs in RL. I illegaly downloaded Photoshop CS 2, and when people ask where I got it, I show them how to DL it free, but I tell them they should buy it from adobe.com instead of stealing it. |

That's nice. Jon, that's an example of what you're doing, except you're making a profit. I'm not going to take sides because so many people do it, and no, just because everyone else does it, doesn't make it right. I could name at least 5 or 6 of my friend's who downloaded an illegal version of Photoshop, and I bet there's many many more. And no, I'm not going to criticize you, because I was involved in that whole JEVN thing. |

My apologies for the manner in which I initiated this. It irritated me because I had *just* gotten an e-mail from T-Shirt Hell last week with several of these designs prominently featured, so it was rather blatant to me. Perhaps I should have taken a different tack.
And I recognize that this isn't an uncommon thing in SL, but I do think that basically duplicating the entire new products line of one particular manufacturer is really overstepping the bounds of what should be considered typical. Hell, I have made a couple of tees in my time that were "borrowed" designs such as this, but certainly not to this scale. P2 _____________________

And no, I'm not going to criticize you, because I was involved in that whole JEVN thing. I'm not suggesting people go to a bootleg site or a swap-meet and buy ripped off copies of the tshirthell shirts, which would be a closer comparison to downloading bootlegged versions of software. That takes money away from the rightful creators of that software. Instead, I'm sending people to the site where they can buy real versions of the shirts and give those original creators their RL dollars. I don't have a problem with taking them down if it gets peoples' knickers in a twist though, as it apparently does the OP. _____________________

be careful!

as far as the T-Shirt Hell designs go, Jonquille.. i understand you have given credit with a sign in your shop, but what about contacting the goofballs at T-Shirt Hell and asking if they would be interested in allowing you to use their designs in SL, but give them more exposure? include the copyright info on the shirts and perhaps make an exclusive deal with them?
"T-Shirt Hell designs brought to you officially and exclusively by Little Rebel Designs" would be pretty cool if you ask me. ![]() otherwise, tread very, very carefully.. they could end up making a t-shirt that makes fun of you or something! lol.. but seriously, i'd hate to see your business take a legal hit of that size. - and this is a general statement and not directed at anyone in particular, just some advice. be careful with the whole Adobe thing. if you don't plan on making any money off of it, then you shouldn't have much to worry about. however, if you'll be using Adobe products to make money of any kind (as in RL t-shirts or SL t-shirts), i highly suggest using a registered copy. i would hate to see someone lose all their work due to use of an illegal copy. _____________________

I got the same newsletter. It was blatant because I wasn't trying to hide the fact that they came from the site. That site is a riot, and I like sending people to it.
The different tack you perhaps should have taken would be to message me and ask if I give credit to the creators of the graphics, and we could have discussed it. But the free advertising works too. My apologies for the manner in which I initiated this. It irritated me because I had *just* gotten an e-mail from T-Shirt Hell last week with several of these designs prominently featured, so it was rather blatant to me.
