Tools that let people find out everything in one's inventory

In the first 3 days of me being on SL, someone gave me a bow and arrow. I put it away and never used it because it had been made quite clear how people feel about weapons.

I had forgotten that I even had a bow and arrow in my inventory--and I have NEVER used it. Suddenly someone on this forum was making a statement that I was using a bow & arrow, which I've never used.

Just a note to anyone--make sure that if there's an item that you don't want anyone to accuse you of using, don't accept it in the first place so nobody can accuse you of anything.

I find it appalling -EVEN THE SLIGHTEST POSSIBILITY- that people can snoop around to see ALL the items I have in my inventory.

I have worked hard at making sure I don't do anything that goes against any rules, and knowing how people are willing to ban someone for things as trivial as stating they don't like a certain type of music, I make sure I'm very careful about what I say as well. I work hard to make sure I am and remain to be a decent citizen in SL. I may be fat, I may dress funny, but damnit, I'm a good, conscientious, caring person, and have received good ratings from a number of people. I want to keep it that way.

Sincerely,

I had forgotten that I even had a bow and arrow in my inventory--and I have NEVER used it. Now it seems that people are able to see everything that one has in their inventory, because someone on this forum was making a statement that I was using a bow & arrow, which I've never used.

Occam's razor: Perhaps it was the same person (via an alt) that gave you the bow & arrow.

There is no way to examine an agent's inventory. The script commands for querying inventory only work for rezzed items. This is because your "inventory" is actually just a bunch of references in the asset server sent to your client and isn't a part of the local sim's dataset.

But yes, not accepting an item is the foolproof way to avoid being accused of ever using such item. :)

Are you serious here? I mean I know there is no privacy in SL... but people actually coming up with ways to snoop through others inventory... and then deriving conclusions from it... Surely that is not a fact?

Also, I rencently put on an alt with no payment info to wander around for a bit. I wanted to see if there is a different treatment. I did find people to be slightly more cautious when first saying hello. I was also sad to not be able to access some places. The little warning about why is really not informative either. If I was truly a newbie I would have no idea why I wasn't able to enter a region. You do not have proper access level or some such.

I will never be able to watch every action and reaction I have. If that's what it takes to remain a member in good standing, you better count me out right now.

Sounds like a psyche to me. There is no way to examine the contents of someone's inventory (with the exception of the Linden's maybe)

Its easy to say "I saw so-inso using a none-such". Especially if it is one of those things that almost everyone has.

I sincerely hope you're right. I was really hurt and disturbed by the person's claims about me. VERY hurt.

I don't mean this in an offensive way at all, but i noticed the "just another fat guy" in your title.

Is your avatar also rotound? If so, there may be some confusion because a fat guy was shooting up the Relay for Life this weekend. Just a thought.

By the way, fat guy who was shooting up the Relay for Life this weekend, YES i still know your name, YES i still have that bat, and YES you still have an unholy beating coming. Always look right, then left, then right again.

So, someone made a *false* statement and you jump to the conclusion they hacked your inventory to get the information to make it?

There's a bow range right near the welcome area. (or at least, there used to be) It's a pretty safe assumption that most avatars have tried a bow at some stage.

I didn't know there was a bow range right near the welcome area. I was somewhere out in the middle of nowhere when I was given the bow&arrow. I didn't know it was a common thing. I'm sorry to have made that poor assumption--but if bows and arrows weren't a common thing, it may not have been a poor assumption. In my past, I've been an avid cheater in games, (granted, not in multiplayer games except Delta Force 2 which has been turned into a game of competition to see who has the best cheats) and have learned not to put it past anyone to use these types of methods to get what they want.

It was a bad assumption, and I'm sorry.

EDIT: I'm now wondering whether it would be best for this thread to be deleted. If a moderator wants to delete this thread because it could possibly cause problems, please do so. Thanks.

Does your name mean what I think it means? Are you SURE you haven't been up to any nonsense with your 'arrow'? Inquiring minds...

That's funny. :)

My name is a made-up word that, when pronounced, either sounds like someone sneezing, or like someone who is mentally challenged trying to say something completely different. I would have used my normal handle and stage name for my music, Kizzume (kih-zoom) [kizzume.com myspace.com/kizzume shameless plug], if picking a last name from a list wouldn't have been required.

There are very few words in the English language that put the letter F in front of the letter M.

It's pronounced: FFF--mmm--ehhh. Fmeh, 1 syllable.

I've seen fmeh post on quite a few threads over the past month and he seems like a good and thoughtful person.

BTW Fmeh, don't panic about the bow and arrow. They are common enough around the place. It usually takes a couple or three ARs about the same activity to result in a Linden ban. Landowners of course have their own discretion and can ban for whatever reasons they see fit, which is their prerogative in the end.

You aren't really getting enough detail in your forum avatar to be able to make out what it is, and it looks like a couple kleenex stuck up your nose.

Really??
when i first saw it i immediately assumed it was a large guage septum ring (which it turns out it is).

Of course i'm into piercings in real life.. soo... that might be why i recognized it as such.
