Oh another thing I noticed is that Ginko took their total deposit listing off their website. Maybe it is going down quick due to withdraws to move money and they don't want people to know? I'm sure they could always fudge the numbers anyways. Just something I noticed. Not sure why else you'd put stats up and then take it away again after competition opens up.

Actually, we're getting more accounts a day then we have ever before {27 in the last 24 hours}. But of course, that could just be from the whole free alt deal. As for SLbank, we haven't heard of them {mainly because they are relatively new}, nor do really discuss any other SL banks, as there are a quiet a few out there that do offer more then SLbank and Ginko. Or at least there was the last time I took a gander around the grid. As for the statistics, I will talk to Hino about getting them back up. They were taken down from public view because of SL updates that would change the format of how account details are stored {or something along those lines}, which would cause display errors until we change how the data is read. So in few hours after some of the updates, people would see completely unbelieve numbers for the statistics like $343,992,835,102,399 in the reserve, or something along those lines.

So far I have all praise for Ginko, not one negative as of yet.
Nice interest rates. deposit and withdraw instantly. nice sized weekly lottery. All aspects thus far have been professional.

I have a feeling that if banks in SL were to provide a RL name, address, phone number, and email, it would only make them much more reputable. Even though none of the banks are FDIC insured, it would be nice to have a method set up to guarantee that the ONLY reasons people could lose their money is from Linden Dollar related issues, or Linden Labs related issues.... and not that the owners can just take the money and run.

I saw in another thread about banks in SL a few months ago where the owner of SL Bank posted his private school email, his personal web site his real name and even pictures if I remember correctly.

Sorry, was mistaken. That statistics that were on the main page was just a stationary statistic of that day/week. It was removed because news post bumped it out. I will talk to hino though to see if he can up an updating version on the front page.
