Badly spelled ostrich, in honour of our sleconomists...

Ooh, yes please, an ostrich would be cool.... bonus points if it looks slightly angry, as many RL ones do. A dodo would be interesting also.

Kiwi! They're so cute. I think blue-footed boobies would be nifty too. Or maybe penguins if you don't have those already. Actually I think they're all good ideas.

Birds of paradise, that randomly go into full display mode would be nice.

In response to all; ^_^

(1) Steampunk mecha-bird: This was done by someone, who gave me a copy. THEY ARE AWESOME. I'll forward info when I'm off work, Kage. ^^

(2) Penguins: They've been done. :D

(3) Lovebirds: If you don't mind the "morphic" variety, Noramyr Gullwing made cute lovebird avatars at our place in Awa. ^^

(4) Pelican: I've been pondering this myself.

(5) Also been pondering frigates in addition to boobies..... :>

Wow, I was just about to suggest that. I second this opinion! As an outdoorsman, I have always been fond of the fauna.

Perhaps that is why I graduated from Colorado State this May with a BS in wildlife biology and a minor in fishery biology... LOL

Yeah, the ring-necked is the state bird of South Dakota, but this one was prettier (even if he's a guy :D)

Congrats on your degree :)

To accompany the pheasant, how about a bobwhite quail, or perhaps a mourning dove? :D

And thanks for the congrats, Sansarya. :)

We only got one choice? I wanted to vote for heron/crane AND flamingo.

Howard the Duck. Goodness.

I would have thought you'd like a swallow. African, of course. Unless it was two Europeans working together...

Time for new avian avatars like the raven, cockatoo, hawk, etc.

Kind of got too many ideas and too little ability to choose. So help me prioritize an order. :)

The end tally of votes will determine the order I build the new ideas. :)

I'm in love with your crows and ravens..someday..

Hi Psyra,

I have seen your Phoenix and what a great creation it is. One bird, well, half-bird, I had in mind for possibly creating is a Griffin. Great and bold legendary creature.

My personal favorite bird is the manakin. This bird can moonwalk! That's too cool. Love those Gouldian Finches as well, Ingrid. Very pretty.

Been there done that. One of the beanie birds was a griffy. The pic is too big to put inline, so click here to see it. :D

I was working on a full griffon as well, but after Daryth released his griffon, I stopped with it. Later on (quite recently in other words) I reworked the idea into the rather alien Saurogryphs instead, making a funky alien griffon by crossing a ki-rin and a feng-huang. :)
