From: Mina Firefly Well here's my story. 4 years ago I was playing Ultima Online (2D RPG game) And there I met a naked lady on her unicorn. She noticed that I was speaking dutch to my dutch friends. So she joined the conversation. Apperantly she was from Belgium. The careless way she picked her words made it clear that she was actualy a he irl. and not to mention...who would ever sit nude on a unicorn...rather then someone who is male irl...we all know women care more about looks of their character. Anyways...so we talked. She/he became one of my best friend online. We did everything together. We went killing together , we said goodnight too eachother before we logged out , we logged out together. He moved in with me in my Large Tower. He started to ask me if he could see me irl. I always said 'sure...someday' (and with someday I usual mean never) We traded real pictures...sure he looked fine. But still...picking up a guy from the internet was soooo not my style. After 4 months of continuesly whinning to meet me...I decided to give in. I met him at my home...I saw him and I was like 'OMG he's even prettier IRL!' We fell in love and we even decided that same weekend to have a relationship. So there you go. As for today...I still have a relationship with him (with the naked lady on the unicorn) We did seperate one year...but true love brought us back together and i'm never going to let him go He was the first one I ever fell in love with. /me strips clothes and looks for unicorn to sit on.

From: Cronopios Jamberoo Would love to talk to any couples that met in SL (or Wow, CoH, or any MMO) and then began dating in RL. I've posted here before- I'm making a documentary, possibly for HBO, and have a section on Romance in MMOs that could use some good stories! I'm really looking for people in NYC, or in driving distance, so I can point a camera at you and you can pretend you're in When Harry Met Sally! Thanks, Victor victor@purewestmedia.com No personal tales are going to be forthcoming, but I would offer this bit of advice: interview them quick. By the time you have read this sentence, ten years have gone by on the grid and several hundred SL relationships have changed partners. Some of that is going to bleed into RL...

From: Myke Patton I met G quite by accident on SL. A relationship was the furthest thing from my mind at the time. Repeated interaction became a habit, which became a relationship, and since we decided to "what-the-hell-let's-meet-IRL" things have been ...amazing!
So many stories of VR-to-RL being such hell, I was and am constantly surprised, shocked and greatful every single day I"m able to see him here. Having spent 2 weeks IRL together only further benchmarked the feelings we'd had since November.
I've had my share of relationships, though this is the first online-based and/or LDR I've ever fallen into, and I can't say I regret it at all. I think it's something everyone should experience at least once. For me, it wasn't really a decision. Can't control where my heart takes me. Yay!
-Myke Okay, we'd love a story from someone who's recently started a relationship- do you live on the East Coast? Just email me- victor@purewestmedia.com

I met my Partner, Alexin Bismark, in May 2004 in SL. We immediately started spending every night together in world, on the phone, or both. Six months later just before Thanksgiving, we met in RL. Since we both lived in Texas and only 3 hours apart, it wasn't difficult to spend two weekends a month together. In December 2005, I moved in with Him. It's been a wonderful six months and I honestly don't think we could be happier. We still enjoy SL as much as ever though for some reason those pose balls only seem to gather dust in our inventories now. angel

Shortly put, I met a girl shortly over a year ago in SL. She lived in Canada and I in UK. 1 year later, we are married and both live in UK after me accumulating many airmiles on Air Canada. Nowhere near NYC though so you don't get to point your camera in our face. Wendel

I met my SO on SL. One day I was playing with the user interface and noticed the "Create" option on the pie menu.
Intrigued, I decided to press it. After some initial fumbling, I found that I could rez a plywood cube AT WILL. And it was love at first sight. I tried to make small talk. She acted aloof. She played hard to get. She pretended I didn't exist. But I knew she was interested. Something about her grain...
Plywood Cube and I do everything together. We go to nightclubs. We build. I sometimes wear her on my head.
It's really the perfect relationship. Quiet cuddling by the fireplace...Romantic walks on the beach (well, I walk, she just sits there in stony silence...but on her, it's sexy)...dreaming of our future.
My only complaint is her bad fashion sense. She just can't put an outfit together by herself. But slap some Lash hair on her, and some primheels...and WOW!

He's really hot, but changable... unpredictable and starts to play with a girl's head a lot. He's a slut, though. He's on every woman in SL.

Just email me- victor@purewestmedia.com You witless, lazy hack. You come on here, contribute nothing to the community except your email address again and again, but expect the community to contribute to your programme. Do you not realise that the best way to get stories is to be an integral part of the community that generates those stories? Steaming in and asking for soundbites will get you exactly that - dull, banal soundbites. Try again. Rusholme Malone (journo)

Rusholme Malone (journo) Thanks for the love, Rusholme. You must have a lot of fans in the SL Community, being so sweet. FYI we are part of the community. We all have avatars, and have spoken multiple times and interviewed Pathfinder & Catherine Linden, Mark Wallace, Tony Walsh, Prokofy Neva and Satchmo Prototype, among others. We know SL. Soundbytes are the last thing we're looking for. We're looking for gamers to follow, who can provide the backbone to our documentary. We want to delve into their RL lives and see how their online lives bleed into them. Cheers, mate. Victor

Maybe you should never let her watch "Ed, Edd, and Eddy" -- Plank might steal her heart away from you!

From: Io Zeno Torus. He's really hot, but changable. You women are always trying to change men. Can't you just be happy with Torus the way he rezzed? Do you HAVE to twist and stretch him into become something completely different? -Pall
