Well, I know there are classes on various things, this is a wonderful thing, unfortunately i can not make these classes or the majority of them are Int. And yes I did attempt to attend one of these.. Wayyyyyy over my head. I have done a search on the web various times hoping to find some how to's on second life. I.e., making things, my hair, clothes, blah blah blah.. And of course came up empty handed. sigh...... So, if you know of any sites that have in depth how to's that are simplistic for ppl like myself please pretty please with a cherry on top post it and yes i know second life has their how to thingy.. but no its not informative except for the basics of moving and so forth -.-

Most of these things are taught at interactive classes in-world, which is by far the best way of teaching them because with creative things everyone looks at them in a different way. What are you looking to do?

If it's building, the Ivory Tower Of Prims is probably the nearest thing to what you're describing. I don't know if other similar builds exist too..

From: VolatileWhimsy Bu hmm, i think that would help me alot, but not in the direction i am requesting here. I would like to know how to do make up, make a decent outfit, Both of these are done in basically the same way - download the avatar templates (from Linden Labs themselves, or the Chip Midnight templates), then draw the appearance for your clothes or make-up onto them, upload them and wear them. Some clothes may also have prim attachments included within them, which are built in the same way as all other prim objects (ie, check out the Ivory Tower) If you're actually asking for tutorials on the artistic skills needed to make those drawings look good then.. well, I don't know many of those in SL And if anyone's doing one I want to come. From: someone do flexi hair, make furniture,
Essentially, they're built in the same ways as any other prim-based objects. Furniture is much easier to start with. From: someone attach my stupid walk without getting errors
What errors are you getting? From: someone make my own for that matter
Search the forums for "AvMotion" and download it. You can use this to create a walk animation that you can use within your attachment.

Ok, "draw the appearance for your clothes", when you mean this, are you saying for me to do it in an art program or something? or is it already provided in the template? yes i've seen that the prims can be clothes as well. i've made a ball and put a sit in there, but that is it From: someone If you're actually asking for tutorials on the artistic skills needed to make those drawings look good then.. well, I don't know many of those in SL And if anyone's doing one I want to come. if there is one, im so there and im so iming you.. lol From: someone What errors are you getting?
that it can't find it. i know i need some program to override it.. sigh.. and i've had the question answered here. but i am not sure what the answer meant, since i am clueless.. You can imagine the clothing, and make-up, that your avatar wears as a picture that's wrapped around your avatar's body. Photoshop is a popular program to use, but you can also use GIMP, which is available for free. As for prims, again usually the best idea is to go through the Ivory Tower, and then experiment. From: someone that it can't find it. i know i need some program to override it.. sigh.. and i've had the question answered here. but i am not sure what the answer meant, since i am clueless.. How are you trying to "attach" the walk right now?

Volatile, post over in the Designs/Textures section and you'll get a lot of good help. There are also sticky threads there with ALL kinds of helpful links for you.

From: VolatileWhimsy Bu that it can't find it. i know i need some program to override it.. sigh.. and i've had the question answered here. but i am not sure what the answer meant, since i am clueless.. If you have an Animation Override attachment which is giving you error messages that it can't find an animation, you probably need to load the animations into it. Some of them come with anim sets, and some don't... if it's one that doesn't, the anims will have to be purchased separately. The attachments almost always tell you how to load them into the device and edit the 'default anims' notecard so it'll recognize them. If the AO device came with anims, you might just need to type in a command to make it load the anim set, or put a notecard in it with the anims listed, or something similar to that. What AO are you using? Edit: the ZHAO overrider is a very good one, and is totally free at YadNi's Junkyard. You have to buy anims to put into it, but it attaches as a HUD, so it frees up a body attachment point. It has a pretty good instruction notecard with it, too.

Hit the F1 key while you're in Second Life and there's quite a huge "how to" thing there. It's relatively new.
