What do you and your partner do for fun ?

My partner and I have been here a couple of months. She likes to shop, and dance, and we pk (person kill) each other when we can't find anything else to do.

We keep trying to find some activity to do in SL that would replace what we were doing in another online world, but we haven't had much luck. So we end up going back to the other game to fulfill that part that we're missing here, but we would both like to replace it, and not have to ever go back for many reasons.

The other game is Project Entropia ( they changed their name to Entropia Universe), it also has a cash economy. But the main way to earn was to go hunting creatures, robots or other people for loot ( ie, its like playing the slots and hitting a jackpot if your lucky). Its pretty entertaining, she and I have been an unseperable team there for over a year, and if it where not for a lot of changes going on there that we don't care for, we would probably have not ever looked around for something else to play.

We bought an little island and put a house on it and decorated it. We've tried, Racing Cars, riding motorcycles, skating, sailing, sex, games, sky diving, shooting and blowing up our neighbors, and a few more activities that i can't remember atm. Unfortunatly, none of these things we have tried here in SL have contained the same level of excitement that hunting in PE/EU provides. We keep going back there for the thrill of the hunt.

So... I thought I would ask the forum the question, what do you do with your partner in SL for fun and excitement ? I'm running out of ideas.

No, we have not. I googled it and found a reference to it and see that it is built in SL, some idea I was wondering about, so please send along "a free pack to get" us started, we'll try it tonight

I sent you both one The folder is called DarkLife Survival Kit, I originally purchased these for $L300-$400 ( I don't remember) and got several of them for this very reason, people run out or can't find fun things to do, hope you enjoy it

Hopefully LL will take note of your message and come to the conclusion that the event creators in SL are important and there is no way for an event creator in SL to run a successful, profitable, consistant event. If the event creators receive financial support, we will be able to broaden the horizons of the creative events in SL.

Try and find new partners maybe. Some people take that as entertainment.

My partner and I usually talk. We just stand there and talk, for hours. More than once we have logged in, talked for like 8 hours straight, and never once moved from the spot we logged in on.

We do other things too of course, but the thing we do most for entertainment is talk.

(And no jokes about how women never shut up! )

@Doubledown: I don't know much about the event systems in SL or problems therin, but I hope LL does what they can to resolve them for you as it appears by your comment that there is something there that needs attention.

@Cottonteil: I love this partner. I'm not interested in looking for another. I want to find more fun things to do with her because we like to have fun together. But thanks for the suggestion

@Vares: Ahh, yes! We are pretty good at talking. That's one of the things I failed to mention, but we usually end up doing that on IM. When we're in SL, we usually are there to "do something", I am looking for more "somethings" to do

There is a small mini golf game set up. Was just playing a "round" Can't remember where it is, but if you search mini golf you will find it.

We liked the kissing pose balls, and seeing how hard we could hit the ball, and placing land mines on the path. But we didn't make it past the second hole before we got bored and left. whats par ? jk lol

We talk, explore, build, design clothes, talk, go shopping, build more, talk even more, go exploring, and we also build and explore!

I like the idea of being able build and design things, but I find its easier to "just buy one" of whatever we need. I haven't found anything I needed yet that wasn't already built and ready for purchase. Most of the time I think of something I would like to build, its way too complex for my skill set. I guess when I find something that I need that I think I can handle, that will be my catalyst to spend some time learning the tools better.

My patner finds building a little too technical atm. Its difficult to collaborate on things with the tools and permissions the way they are, so doing anything along those lines seems to be geared as a solitary activity, then something we can do in a meaningful way together, which is why we are here in the first place. To have a place to do things together. And forget about using external tools like photoshop to create textures to import or poser for animations, that's something she's not even ready for at this point. She's quite happy to shop for whatever she needs or wants and if its not available, then she'll skip it or subsitute it, or keep shopping.

Exploring is fun here, but its kind of awkward. She or I look up a place, then TP there, then we have to tp the other person to ourself. Then we have to wait for everything to rez, then we look around, and look up another place to go, rinse and repeat. In our other game, we had whole contenants to roam accross together. Although we usually used one of the static teleportals and then set out from one of those locations together. Exploring just feels kind of awkward in SL. It would be great if we could designate, each other for teleportation together, so when one of us picks a spot, the other would show up too. I don't know if that exists, but it would make it a little more convienant to explore together.

Ofc, this assumes you found something in the search function that you felt like exploring. Often times I am sitting there looking at the search tool wondering , ok, what should I search for, and I come up blank ( part of the reason for this thread).

This is where we end up in the "what do you want to do" loop. I'm sure a lot of couples are familair with this routine.

"What do you want to do? I don't care, whatever you want to do. Well I don't know what I want to do. Ok, so what would you like to do, I don't know, whatever. Ok , lets go log into the other game and go kill something. ok, sounds good cya there. ctrl+q"

I'm not suggesting you leave your current partner. I just suggested looking for new ones. As long as you both are in agreement, it shouldn't be an issue. About the most interesting thing in SL are its people.

All the builds and games and stuff really pale in comparison, since a large proportion of them are non-interactive, badly done or do not function smoothly enough to derive any entertainment from due to technical limitations. Its just LLs marketing spiel to attract customers to believe they can make or enjoy really convincing games here. I can't even take a car and drive around the world happily without ploughing into the earth.

We used to taunt each other in SL forums and mess around trying to top each other in the most number of Linden Bears collected or the most fun amusement park ride we could find, but he died (in SL) and is in WoW Heaven now Have you thought about going to WoW?

Yeah, we played wow, she got really pissed off at the stupid quests lol

She met some npc and it told her go go get something for someone and she said, "wtf, do I look like some errand boy, go get it yourself you lazy f*ck" and that was about the end of WoW for us lol ( my rogue made it to lvl 38m her warrior stopped at 10 if I remember correctly lol)

*Try Numbakulla if its still there.
*Explore by walking, then you dont have the rezz problem, at you get to see things that are never in find. Or you could sail or fly.
*Explore sides of yourself you normally dont (be a vamyre, a furry, try gor, change sexes or whatever).
*Get some friends and do things with them.
*Type in randoms words in find and see the hits you get (we found awesome things typing in things like tea and towel a while ago).
*Play games (tringo, slingo, poker, oar, boogie etc)
*Join the photographer group and take pictures for next contest
*Grant each other rights and build together. Me and my partner does this alot, he builds, i texture. Then set the perms after you are done.
*Go freebie hunting and find real gems between all the junk.
*Buy a space hopper and bounce away!
*Surf or go rollerskating

get a cloud nine from Abbotts Airfield. it's great way to explore Second life, and see some truely beautiful things.

we just built a new homestead so we are just building stuff atm, however, i have a collection of random boats and we just motor around. another fun thing is to open a business together, or in my case just make sure everything is how she wants it.
