Relax. Chill. Calm.

SecondLife is fine, really it is. I've been having a great time and running around doing and building some damn cool stuff. From the posts in this forum, you'd think SecondLife was experiencing its Gotterdamerung. Its not the case.

SL is awesome! Lean wit it, rock wit it.

Cow Out.

Somebody's pointing out that most of SL is actually pretty fun and enjoyable.

My gosh, we can't have that.

I think we have a crisis here.

Thank you for starting this thread. It makes me smile. :)

And now, I'll quote from the great positive thinker, Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. He didn't live long enough to see Second Life, but he did live into his 90s.
One problem is worry that besets multitudes of persons. Worry is not to be minimized as a personality problem. The English word worry, I am told, is derived from an Anglo-Saxon word, wrygan, which literally meant "to choke or strangle." If someone seized you about the throat, pressing with maximum strength, he would be dramatically doing to you what you do to yourself if you are a victim of worry for a long period. You are, in effect literally strangling or choking your own creative powers.

Since we're making quotations and all....

The true ideal is not opposed to the real but lies in it; and blessed are the eyes that find it.
Lowell, James Russell American poet (1819-1891)

As much hated and maligned as it tends to be here on the forums, many people who are portrayed as negative in these forums are more specifically realists in philosophy. They believe in the concept of optimism, but they also believe that one does not achieve that goal without fully acknowledging and directly dealing with the neutral or negative aspects of reality. To be an optimist without recognizing the existence that life had a negative viewpoint is to shut one's self off from completely immersing one's self in life.

It's called a balance. Yin and Yan, etc. To live life in only one extreme is to deny a part of one's self that exists. Many realists (of which I call myself one) are not afraid of acknowledging that not all we say or do is rainbows and lollipops.

On a serious note, thanks for the really cool quote Torley. I have a friend in SL that worries about everything, both here and in rl. I think I will send that quote to them.

The forums are for trolling and whining about everything that's wrong about everything. Now go start a thread about how everything is wrong with SL and how much ageplayers, LL, SL, goreans and furries suck and ruin your life.

Maybe, just maybe, then you will avoid being banned from the forums. Such disobedience to the rules that starting this thread was is perhaps a bit too serious though, so no guarantees.
