Another Shop Scam?

Has anyone had any experiences with scammers placing invisible vendors or boxes in front of shop displays. I imagine it would be worse for "pay" vendors since you don't get to see the list of the inventory you are buying to confirm it's the right one before paying. I've heard a shopkeeper or two have had this happen lately, I am wondering how (potentially) widespread it is.

I've always kept auto-return on, but for those that don't, and aren't aware of this potential scam..... I'd say keep a regular eye on your vendor displays and check for invisible prims which may be trying to siphon your customer's money.

Just to tack on to this, a new person I spoke to last night told me she was a victim of this scam, also reported here that was posted Monday. The scammer apparently had the balls of steel to return to ND/Lost's store 2 days later and do it again.

She was disappointed when I explained that she'd been scammed, but she took it pretty well. I encouraged her to IM Lost Therian or Ambyance2 Anubis and file an AR. I don't know if she did.

I have permanent autoreturn set at about 5 minutes.... it's a sad but necessary state of affairs now.
