Changing channels is a poor solution to this type of "man in the middle" attack as it just makes it take longer for the cracker to get the channel. Don't underestimate the willingness of crackers to run hundreds of scripts in parallel at which point the crack is a mere matter of statistics. If I understood the claimed problem correctly, there are much more effective protections against replay attacks.

There are 4,294,967,296 total chat channels. Following are rough stats based on a "cracker" running 1,000 listens per second. To scan every channel, it would take: 4294967.296 seconds 71582.78823 minutes 1193.046470 hours 49.71026960 days

From: DoteDote Edison There are 4,294,967,294 total chat channels. How'd u get that number? I make it 4,294,967,296. Wiki says.... Channels are stored as signed integers, so the possible chat channels range from -2147483648 to 2147483647. So... 2147483648 + 2147483647 = 4294967295 + channel 0, to give a grand total of 4294967296 If we're gonna be pedantic we should probably be accurate

From: Kris Ritter would it be cynical to say this looks like a large advert in General and that absolutely no proof is offered that any of this is true? Sounds like that to me Kris...even if its true this is clearly an ad. But it did make me laugh that someone described the camping chairs as a multiplayer game, guess the concept of game is being confused with gaming...

To scan every channel, it would take: 49.71026960 days However, assuming a uniform distribution of channel numbers, on average you should be able to hit it in half that time, with a 5% chance that you'd hit it in 2.5 days. But I'm just playing and 1000 listens per second is a pretty generous assumption, and I thank you for doing the math that I didn't bother with. And I do feel sullied for having bumped this thread again.
