What does LL propose to do about the Dalek problem?

So, all these new sims are opening up along the southern edge of the mainland, and the Daleks have already taken them over.

What assurances can I get from Linden Labs that I won't wake up and find myself conquered or perhaps exterminated?

I think the official LL policy on Daleks is to call Dr. Who and let him sort them out.

That always seems to work anyway.

Look, I don't mind Daleks.

Hey, some of my best FRIENDS are Daleks!

It's just, you know... when it comes to Dalek sex they should, you know, get a skybox.

It's just kind creepy to me is all.

I am attempting to handle the situation, but my Tardis is down for maintenance.

Please send the appropriate n-dimensional spacio-temporal coordinates and I will get to you in the order in which your IM was received.

Seriously: That's a GREAT Dalek!

I developed a Tardis teleporter. Who's interested?

Does anyone have a good collection of dr. Who merchandise on SL yet?

Perhaps a Dalek is that mystery random person to attend the Views program?

And Supreme Dalek, you suck. Why couldn't Dalek have been available when *I* signed up!

Joking aside, I can't say I'm all that happy to see my nice edge-of-the-world view at Hoodoo is about to be crammed with potential sex/casino/slingo/club lots. :P

PS: Check out the Doctor Who Museum, in the sim Dimidiata. Lots of Daleks/Doctor Who stuff there. You can also pick up those Daleks shown there. :)

BTW, it's not "Dr. Who"... it's simply "The Doctor". :)

O dear, that shows where my interests lie.

Anyone got a list of everyone who's ever made a Dalek in Second Life? Lumiere Noir, Reyo Neutra, what Fenrir mentioned... I'm sure we've got wots and wots.

Look in Cirius Montale's picks, or IM him ingame, he made a variety of dalek avatars, and has a store with other content creators who made similar items.

I thought I got them all. I could have sworn I got them all.

Ah well. You know how it is. Kill ten million and one or two slips through the cracks. I guess me and my sonic screwdriver had better get busy!!

Ok, this shows my age, but I haven't seen Dr. Who since Tom Baker was The Doctor.

He was the best Doctor yet up to that point. Is that still the case?

I never saw the original series. I've only been watching since the new series started earlier this year.

AND I LOVE IT!

I'm not sure whether it's the touch of irreverence, or the way that the producers managed to use cheap sets and still make it all believable... it's somehow more real for its "not slick" appearance. In fact, I think the New Dr Who's world is more believable than just about any future-based science fiction show I've seen to date. Somehow the idea that the future looks like a cheaply done sound stage just works for me.

:)

(And Christopher Eccleston was just incredible in the role. I hope the new guy can fill his shows. I know that The Doctor has changed over time, but I'm dissapointed to see Christopher go so soon! He was the main reason I got hooked on the show - his attitude and that infectuous grin!)

It felt like Dr Who meets HGTG (the way it should have been and was written). I lvoe the new series.

Heh, I used to watch the Tom Baker Dr. Who when I could find it on. I've caught some of the new series and it isnt bad. The effects are definitely an improvement. ;)

If a Dalek breaks the community standards by enslaving you, exterminating your family and friends, converting you into a sinister robot henchman or opening a time corridor and destroying your race before they ever evolved, then you must consider this a violation of the Terms of Service and abuse report accordingly.

Starting a retaliatory Time War is not the right course of action as this would be classed as abuse in its own right and will be punished accordingly.

If in doubt, I'd say you should ask a liaison.

They can fly now! The Doctor and Rose tried the stairs in last year's series, but nice try. ;)

But ... but ... we don't have a Who surname!

I doubt whether they will do anything about it. What I have heard is that some of the Daleks are quite pally with the Lindens.

Say no more ...
