Your original statement did not appear to be a joke at all, but a dig. Then you came back and said you were joking. Aimee's response of "you are comedy gold" was sarcastic, meaning that you are so hilarious we missed the joke (as in not funny). I don't know why you are overreacting to this, but it is just silly.

For those just joining us, here is the annotated rundown of what will forever be known as the HumorGate Scandal.

Coco seemed to be referencing a previous thread regarding "ferrying text from banned users into the forums" Coco later admits that this was a "Joke-dig." Strategists refer to this as "the first shot"


Aimee attempts to clarify in case Coco was making a serious assertion.


The underlined section is where Aimee was "served" and now (according to sociologists) "it's ON"



Noting Coco was using the time tested "I was only joking" tactic to evade the social consequences of two un-provoked "jabs", Aimee accepted the "Joke" theory and complemented Coco on her humor.


Realizing Aimee's complement only highlighted the fact that Coco's "humor" wasn't really funny, Coco hoped to create a diversion by tossing out the accusation that Aimee was being elitist or "superior" by saying Coco's two jabs were "pure gold."


Aimee shuts down the diversion by reminding Coco that if she was indeed "joking" then "laughing" was the correct response, not an elitist response. Then Aimee gets drunk and tries (unsucessfully) to pretend this thread never happened.

Aimee, you so know better. But I'll watch the fireworks anyway .

Yes, I pointed it out that for someone who everybody was so determined to banish from the forums, everybody certainly is perfectly happy to ferry stuff (as in the link; I never said text, you did) over here. There is irony to that. And I also know you are smart and don't need any of these supposed clarifications.

The "comedy gold" is ALWAYS a snotty putdown. Maybe I misinterpreted it in this case, however. (But I don't think so.)

Now, having said all that, let me say something more important to you, Aimee. I dragged the old Feted Inner Bear out and gave it to my roomie to decorate as himself the other night, and that bear is every bit as totally fabulous and perfect in every detail as it was the first day I saw it.

Your absurd "Preen" advertisements are brilliant. I really, really didn't like the one about stealing, but the "Preen Girls Poop" is just sooo soooo cute. A very good campaign; very cutting edge. And so cute!

And there was something else of yours I saw recently which I considered perfection, but it slips my mind now. If I remember it, I'll add it on here later. You got talent, girl. And you're funny, funny FUNNY, too, as in the post I quoted above.

I say all this so you will know that I'm not your antagonist. But - use the term "comedy gold" to me like E. or J., or both, and others do, and I'm going to assume it's a snotty putdown and react to it as such. Having been an impartial observer of forums for awhile now, this is my observation...

Coco, you bring this upon yourself and then whine when someone calls you on it or jabs back. If anyone gets the best of you, which seems to happen often, you call them elitist and snotty. Or claim they consider themselves superior to you.


When I read your posts I find myself shaking my head and wondering why mental patients have internet access.


When you aren't being bitchy or foaming at the mouth, you can be ok. And from what I have seen...that is about .05% of the time you post.
