Who are we to judge ?
What others find fun , stimulating ,freaky, gross , sick , perverted , the list could go on for a mile....?
Last time I knew we were ALL Adults (well mostly) in the Adult Grid ?
Do we not have a TP button ?
If you see something you find disturbing then why not leave ?
Why make an issue out of something YOU have no control over ?
Why keep bringing up the same issues over and over again ?
I could care less if I came across something sick , If I dont like it , I know where the button to get me the hell out of there quickly is . Amazing how quick you can leave an area if it disturbs you. No need to cry.
Moral of this post : Dont like something ? LEAVE

I agree, but some people have a gut instinct to react to what they think is wrong. The common sense factor doesn't kick in until the reactionary has quieted down.

It's human nature. You gravitate in the direction of your dominant thoughts. Intolerant and angry people are subconsciously drawn to that which they abhor. They want to exercise their intolerance and their comfort zone is being angry. This doesn't mean that tolerant people won't encounter things they don't like, it just means they will gravitate to it less often than an intolerant person would. The hard part is that intolerant people are precisely the people who should be learning tolerance for the sake of their blood pressures. But being such and so possessive of their world views, they won't let go. Both of you say it right, unfotunately the people who should listen to you are precisely the people who won't listen to you.

From: Decadent Rothschild I agree, but some people have a gut instinct to react to what they think is wrong. The common sense factor doesn't kick in until the reactionary has quieted down. Actually it's common sense kicking in that causes the 'outcry' in the first place. Some people do have a sense of decency that transcends both first and second life, and some things are still wrong, even if only in pixel form. When you complain about people like "me" pushing "our" standards on "you" ... sit back and think how "you" are pushing "your" standards on "me". Lewis

Lewis Yes, I'm sorry. I forgot that your standard is to try to push your standards on everyone else.

Lewis I wasn't aware that people were invading your home with their "standards." You do know you could just ban them from the land, right?

If someone isn't harassing you with their lifestyle choices - and of course it is consentual and between adults - who cares? Why bother getting upset over it? Just makes no sense.

Lewis Lewis, you know I don't dislike you, right? And i think your kinda funny and nice.. right? and i wouldn't say anything purposefully to be cruel to you right? this is the deal.. you have put yourself in a predicament.. and i think you realize this, but you have dug yourself a hole and figure might as well enjoy it.. sometimes it is better to refrain from saying something than saying anything...

So, you're basically saying that your standards of decency are greater than mine just because -I- choose to keep my nose out of matters which don't concern me in SL and you choose to judge others based on how -you- live -your- life? Golly gee whiz. Thanks for pointing that out.

Ya know.....I consider myself a fairly good person. I don't think I'm better than anyone, nor do I look down my nose at ppl that may do something I don't agree with. With THAT being said. I am curious by nature, and just because I may wish to visit a Gorean place to see what it's all about or if I decided to dance on a pole for a sl living doesn't mean am a slut in my fl or that I'm weird.....I'm just curious!! I just might want to experience something that I would never even CONSIDER doing in my fl!! I think everyone, I don't care WHAT you say everyone has a little fantasy every now and then! So......I'll shut up now and continue to have a blast in sl!! I TOTALLY agree w/ Minx I do believe!

From: Minx Heart Moral of this post : Dont like something ? LEAVE Now where would the followers of this world be if the leaders who fought for change thought like that. Civil rights, human rights, poverty, sweat shops, child labor, concentration camps, rip offs, discrimination....name your issue, big or small, the attitude "if you don't like it then leave" will not solve any issues. You may not care about the particular issue raised in a thread but the member who posts it does care about it. Why should another member be censored because you are annoyed seeing the issue raised, even if the issue had been raised previously. If someone said to you "if the posts that raise certain concerns and/or issues bother you, then why don't you LEAVE," then your reaction might be to say you have a right to be here too and to express your opinion. Perhaps it would be fairer to say if you don't like the opinion expressed, then don't listen. It's called MUTE, and I use it for posters from whom I am not interested in hearing.
