Just menas I'd take flak through my alt instead of my main. It's still *me* receiving it at this end. And that doesn't even try to address the other two points. LL can make a new surname "Resmod" which is only useable for forum purposes, and set it up like they do with other custom name requirements. As for the time and effort... if it is volunteers rather than the current press-ganged system, then presumably people wouldn't volunteer for the position if they didnt want to spend the time and effort on the task? I've not known any other place where random residents are picked and told they are becoming forum moderators without any say in the matter. Lewis _____________________

Lewis, you're missing teh fundamental point.
It doesn't matter one jot what the username of the resmod alt is. The user controlling that resmod and the user receiving the flak for anything the resmod alt does would still be me. Giving it a surname of "Resmod" won't change that. |

I'm not missing the point at all - if someone CHOOSES to be a resmod, then they know what comes with the job. If you don't want to receive flak, even under a secret modding name, then don't apply. No one was forced to do it. Sure, LL may have picked people they thought would do a good job and then asked them if they wanted to do it, but they couldn't force them to do it. What are they going to do if the person just doesn't do it? Are they going to send some guys to their house to beat them with rubber hoses? All resmods do the job voluntarily. |

I'd nominate myself but mostly so i could keep moving posts out of SL Answers into tech issues and delete every post with a sarcastic inflamitory nature thats sole purpose is to flame anyone. Stuff like that is for PMs. Not forums. Comment from MadamG: Perhaps you should have thought about that before flaming me. Thank you to the persons who IM'ed me to let me know about this post. (rolls eyes...lotta nerve you have there.) Id like to nominate Lewis Nerd. VERY extreme positions but not a moderation extremist. Then of course Tatero Nino, Mera Pixel (both would probably never accept). Eric Boyer (best live helper i've EVER met). Mostly ANYONE WHO STARTS A THREAD should have the option of checking a "this thread is self moderated" flag that will be publically visible and grant the original poster the ability to delete any post they feel is going off-topic to their discussion. I vote against Seronis Zagato because it is obvious that it already has a Shit list readily available to discriminate against myself and anyone else who objects to your opinions....sounds like you'd make a good resmod based on just that.... but I wouldn't count on it.  _____________________
